Dimi Ingle – StyleScoop Editor

Dimi is the founder and Editor of StyleScoop. She blogs daily and you can find all her blog posts under the tab “Little Black Blog” on StyleScoop.

I started this blog in September 2008 and while I’ve never been one of “those” fashion girls, I realised that trends aren’t reserved exclusively for fashion slaves with perfect bodies, who spend their lives bowing down to designer labels and Birkin bags!

While I must confess, I have become “one of them” (as Nate told Andrea in the Devil Wears Prada),  it’s really not such a bad thing! With so much “seriousness” going on in the world today – women want (and need) a place where they can just read, enjoy, inspire, indulge and share!

Unlike Andrea though, I didn’t have my own Nigel who had access to a little piece of heaven – “The Closet” at Runway magazine, and so I started StyleScoop! What was born as a creative outlet to try and force myself to take more fashion risks – like that pair of skinny jeans I thought I’d never wear – has grown to become every girl’s new BFF – Online, anytime and always filled with useful advice, great finds and the inside scoop.

A bit about me
Im a qualified journalist and blogger and have been working as a web designer and online publisher for the past ten years. Im no fashionista but I’m obsessed with shoes, makeup and having all the pretty things that make life that much better. And yes, I do believe the higher the shoes the better your mood.

Celebrity Style Crush
Oh, hands down Victoria Beckham! She’s super stylish and I would love to raid her closet, although I’m pretty sure nothing would fit, but it’s my dream so I can dream big can’t I? Lately, I’ve also become a little obsessed with Kim Kardashian’s style. She’s the perfect example of how to make a pair of jeans look stylish chic.

Favourite Designers
For as long as I can remember, I have always been a fan Dolce & Gabanna. Nobody can design quite like the Italians (this coming from a Greek). My ideal wardrobe would be filled with Dolce & Gabanna everything, Christian Louboutin and Nicholas Kirkwood shoes, Diane von Furstenberg wrap dresses and tailored Armani suits.

Diamonds or Pearls
Diamonds, for sure!

Coffee or Cocktails?
Coffee! I’m an addict! Nothing beats a good cup of Gloria Jeans Hazelnut coffee. MMM!

Dream Date
Hmm, I’m married, am I allowed to go on dream dates? If I was, I’d definitely choose Paul Walker or some of our Sharks rugby players. What, it’s not my fault we’ve got the cutest boys on the field :P

Top 5 Beauty Products
I have far too many favourites to list them all here, but some favourites that spring to mind include; Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation, Mac Pro Long Wear Foundation, the Entire Optiphi Range, Thierry Mugler Angel Fragrance, Sebastian shampoos and conditioners, Tip Top nail Polishes and I think I’d die without my ghd!

Words of Wisdom
One thing I’ve learnt from experimenting with all the makeup in the world (yes it has been that much), is to never skimp on your skincare! No matter how expensive the makeup, if your skin is’nt looked after no amount of makeup will make it look better. With fashion, I believe that even if you think a certain style won’t suit you, try it on! You’ve got nothing to lose and you may be pleasantly surprised.
