Pumps and pouts

Just like a horse and carriage, sexy shoes are complete with hot pouts.   After all your statement colours start at your lips and end at your shoes.  Pick your lipstick shade according to your outfit, but don’t neglect the shoes you’re wearing.

This week I’ve paired some gorgeous celeb inspired looks and found shoes and fabulous lipsticks to help you recreate your own red carpet moment.  Plus there’s a look for every girl.  From the natural beauty, to the red carpet diva.

The Natural Beauty

Nobody pulls of the “natural look” quite like Sienna Miller.  Her style is generally pretty simple, but Sienna always looks perfectly put together.  Get yourself a pretty dress this summer and pair it with a pair of your favourite gladiator flats in metallic shades.  The featured flats are one of the many styles available at Woolworths.

Pull your hair back into an effortless pony and leave a few strands falling at the sides.  Keep your make up flawless and simple and give your pout some attitude with a bit of striking pink.   I love Benefit‘s new Silky Finish Lipstick in My Treat.  The sheer pink shade gives your lips long lasting colour that looks pretty and natural.  The Silky Finish range also comes in 24 different colours, so experiment and see which shade matches your complexion the most.

For a more toned down look try Pink 220 by Almay.  I love it because of how perfectly it compliments my natural lip colour and how fantastic it feels.  It also contains an SPF of 17, which makes it perfect for a garden lunch or a family braai by the poolside.

Both shades look very bright, but once you apply the colour, it provides more of a sheer, natural lip shade as apposed to Barbie doll pink.

The Golden goddess

At the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards, blond babes Cameron Diaz and Victoria Beckham were both spotted in a pair of striking silver stilettos.  Posh wore her (and my) favourite, Louboutin’s Pigalle Shoes.  If you’re looking for the style without the price tag, check out Flec by Plum.  These shoes are so striking and so diverse, you could probably wear them with every outfit in your closet.  They accent a gorgeous print (think Victoria) or snazz up a simple LBD (like Cameron).  Either way these shoes grab enough attention on their own, so ensure that everything is kept fairly minimal – Go for simple hair, limited accessories, and clean and simple makeup.  As  much as I love Posh’s style, I prefer this look on Cameron as it’s a little toned down and a bit more sophisticated.

Cam keeps her make up basic, while Posh smoked out her eyes.  Both stars, however have gone with nude lips.  For the ultimate nude lip try Colourstay Mineral Lipglaze in Everlasting Blush by Revlon.  I love it because it gives your lips sheer shine and ads new meaning to the word glaze.  Plus you don’t even need a coat of lipstick before hand, as this product brightens up the natural shade of lips as well.

The Fun and Flirty Chick

Nelly Fartardo says it best with a simple outfit and loud shoes.  Get her look by going for a flawless finished skin, with smokey eyes and finish it off with a simple, yet flirty lip colour.   For loud shoes that scream statement, check out Nacre by Nine West.  Shoes this loud look best suited with simple outfits, that draw the eye and attention to the shoe.  To add some shimmer and shine to your lips try 24k lipstick from Benefit, which comes in a gift set, contains a shimmer pot and handy 24K gold mini make up bag.  I love it because its sexy and simple and it’s Benefit.

The Sexy Siren

Everyone with at least one good eye can see that Megan Fox, could wear a a rag and still look gorgeous – But one thing this girl knows how to do is accentuate her lips.   She’s even been compared to Angelina Jolie – the queen of the pout.  To add some volume to your pout try Flirtatious from Revlon.  I love it because of the gorgeous colour and, of course, the plumping effect.  It also comes in 16 different shades, so try them all.

The shoes, Ariel from Zoom are very simple, very sexy and very, very Megan.  I love the quilted inner soles and detailed heel.

The Red Carpet Diva

Stunner shoes coupled with a simple, yet chic outfit need bold, mysterious lips.  I love Deep Desire by Revlon for its rich, deep colour and plumping effect.  For shoes that grab attention in a more subtle, bolder way check out Alyssa by Plum.  Remember, purple is big this season so grab yourself this pair of shoes, as the two shades of purple will allow you to wear the shoes with more outfits.
