Today is sadly our last Foundation Friday with Estee Lauder, but you know what they, say all good things must come to an end. Thankfully for me, I still have enough Estee Lauder foundation to keep me going for a few more months – YAY!
Today’s Foundation Friday is on a brand new, re-launched product from the House of Estee Lauder, and if you’re looking for a foundation that will give your face a lift, this is it!
Although this product will only be available in April-May, I got to try it first hand before it launches nationally and have a feeling it’s going to be another best seller!
I do love a product that does its job and still goes the extra mile – kinda like an irreplaceable employee or a husband who not only looks after you, but always understands when you need more shoes, like mine does. The new Estee Lauder Resilience Lift Extreme foundation not only provides great overall cover, but a clinical study found that using this formula had, over time improved lift by 49%! That’s pretty impressive stats, especially if you feel as though you’re losing the battle with gravity.
I used it for a week and enjoyed the radiant glow it gave my skin. Although I do prefer foundations with a matt effect, it’s nice to glow a little, especially when you’re turning 29 and know you only have one more year of being in your twenties (like I did last weekend – eek!). The secret is in the advanced time-released hydration system, which gives dry skin an instant boost and makes it more supple.
At the moment my skin is fabulously hydrated thanks to Estee Lauder’s Hydrationist, which I’ve been using for a while now, together with their Re-Nutriv Moisturizer which I use at night (stay tuned for my rave review on those two). However, I am really looking forward to using this foundation in winter, when the harsh cold climate often leaves my skin a little unhappy.
Applying the foundation was really clean thanks to the pump action bottle (why can’t all foundations be like this?) and I used my gorgeous Estee Lauder Foundation Brush to apply it in long, downward strokes. There were times when I thought the foundation was worn off because I couldnt “see” it on my face, but was surprised to see how much of it came off at night when I removed my makeup. It’s the kind of foundation that covers but doesn’t hide. In other words, it gives your skin an overall even tone, without covering it completely. This makes the skin appear more natural and definitely more youthful.
On the plus side, the formula is very light and non-greasy so you can build up to maximum cover without looking like your skin is an inch thicker.
