Shopping at Shop-Label and my to-die-for purchase

April 23, 2010

Yesterday, I went with Chia (our fabulous Hot-Spotting columnist) to the Shop-Label pop up shop in Durban, held at the Montpelier Hotel in Morningside.

It was my first real-life taste of the experience and I think I might just be hooked! I’ve always believed that a purchase should excite you, but when you get to relive that same heart-fluttering experience when you get home, you know it was well worth it! sends out their packages beautifully wrapped and smelling Divine. The Diptyque fragrance is all part of the Shop-Label experience and smells so good that I have to re-think when Im going to wear my dress, because I don’t want to lose the smell!

Before I show you what I bought (grinning from ear to ear), I must just say that Im very much an impulsive shopper when it comes to shoes, bags and sunglasses, you know the “little” things in life. I can easily splurge on any of these and spend way more than I care to admit, but who cares, you only live once right?

I dont’ however share this same feeling when it comes to clothes! Today I realised it was because I hadn’t found something that got me quite as excited as this dress…

Price tags aside, I would spend without thinking twice again, because this dress is just BE-E-AY-UTIFUL. I first saw this gorgeous Betrice Boyle dress in a mail shot sent out by, and I was instantly in love with it! Besides wanting to meet the fabulous Sarah, I wanted to see this piece in the flesh to see if it had the same effect – and it did!

It’s so different, so striking and so very ME! Not only do I love ice cream, but this dress has the “wow” factor I’ve been searching for. Plus, if that’s not enough to convince myself that I H-A-D to have it, it also goes with so much, I’m already putting the looks together in my mind.

I can wear it as a dress with strappy heels for a night out or pair it with black jeggings or my wet-look leggings and boots for a rock-chic/ grunge Agyness Deyn look. How about a pair of Rocker Blondie converse? Hmmm – another outfit in the making…

But this is by far my favourite…

I bought these gorgeous, studded, sexy (and they make my legs look longer and leaner) concealed platforms from Aldo last week and I tried them on with this dress and …. FABULOUS! Now to plan a night out!

Oh, and Cheryl Cole is also a fan of the Beatrice Boyle for Brown’s collection… and she rocks this look… notice the nude heels and with studded deets!

If you’re in Durban this weekend, the Shop-Label Pop Up Shop will continue tomorrow and Saturday so make sure you “pop” in. Check out the event on Facebook or visit their website.
