Beauty Review: Maybelline Falsies Mascara

I recently got to try out the brand-spanking new mascara from mascara legends – Maybelline, creators of the one and only, iconic mascara – Great Lash. This time around, they’ve created a new mascara that launched in September 2010 – The Falsies Volum’ Express

A fabulous, full lash mascara that comes in a gorgeous purple and turquoise applicator and is sure to make Mascara history (once again)

As far as it giving me a “false lash” effect, Im afraid my sparse little lashes looked nothing like the girl in the advert – not even close. However, it certainly added a little pump and gave my lashes a glossier texture – so perhaps, that’s the “false lash” effect? Right now, Im feeling very envious of girls with longer thicker lashes as I’m sure they will feel the boost a bit more.

The brush is definitely one of my favourite features of this mascara. It’s shaped with the eye and gives lashes an even and full fringed look, fanning out each lash without the clumpiness – Bonus!

The formula is also FAN-tastic! As I mentioned it adds vooma to your lashes, but it also stays there! One of my biggest concerns with thickening mascara’s is that many of them tend to leave a little smudge on my lower eye lid – which drives me crazy! With Falsies however, there wasn’t a single smudge, even after a full days work in a hot, and humid Durban office.

Erin Wasson, the model in the picture, is wearing false lashes AND the girls in the commercials that claim you do not need false lashes w/ this mascara are wearing false lashes. Start thinking girls please.
