Last week saw me darting off to pay a visit to Laura, my make-up artist hours before I was due to cover SUM41′s first live performance in SA. Needless to say that didn’t all go according to plan what with the gale force winds and rain storm that showered myself and crew and the few thousand people gathered to see the punk rockers live but that’s a story for another day. I was prepped and ready with a dress designed and created by a local designer’s love of retro and a dusty gold trench coat to boot.
Laura would soon reveal that with the Spring/Summer season soon upon us, we can look forward to seeing some of the biggest trends take centre stage to include the look of bold liners, retro styles and colored shadows. The return of the retro era and all things neon is back and back with a bang.
Think pink, peachy pinks, sandy pinks, roses, mauves, golden raspberry, and bright cherry reds. Lips with a bright, citrus crush. Eyes that smolder with bold smoky hits of color and cheeks aglow with sunny flashes of fuchsia.
