Green & Gold Makeup – Support the #Boks in Style

The #RWC2011 is in full swing and our boys in green are gold are looking good! It’s so nice to see South African’s behind the #boks and even us fabulous females can do our bit to support our boys. You don’t need beer and a boyish rugby tee to do it, we can do it in style with green and gold makeup.

Thankfully these two colours go magnificently together as they are on opposite sides of the colour wheel, which means they compliment each other, so you wont look like a clown while supporting your team.

We found some of the coolest makeup products out there right now to bring you green and gold in pigments, sparkle, liners, liquid, eyeshadow and of course, nail polish. Speaking of nail polish, if you’re feeling creative, why not try out my South African Flag nail art tutorial?

Pigments & Sparkle

Nothing beats pigment pots for simply superior eye intensity and a little sparkle. I have recently discovered Inglot pigments and I think I’m hooked! Check out these lil’ pots of gold….

From left (in all pics); Inglot AMC Eye Shadow in 37, Inglot AMC Eye Shadow in 84 and Inglot Body Sparkles in 57

Inglot has a fab selection of pigments, but I picked these three as my top three for Springbok support! The first one, 37 is a gorgeous, intense gold that looks amazing on your lids!. Body Sparkles in 57 is fab if you want to add some serious glitter to your lids, but hands down, the winner is 84. It’s a perfect mix of green and gold that brings your lids to life.

Liners and Liquid

Inglot Eyeliner Gel Matte in 86, Inglot Retractable Eyeliner Crayon in 526

Get gorgeous lined eyes with two of my fave products. Inglot Eyeliner Gel in 86 is a super intense green, and the one Tasmyn used in my Springbok eye makeup look. I’m not usually a fan of green liners, but this one has a nice fern tone to it which I love. The Inglot Retractable Crayon in 526 offers a more lime green shade, but still perfect for supporting our Bokke. It glides on easily and is 100% true to its colour!

Eye Shadows

From top: Revlon Custom Eyes in Metallic Chic, Yardley Stayfast Velvet Quad in Mystical Jewel, Rimmel Glam Eyes in Spicy Bronze and Couleur Caramel Natural Makeup in Bourg de Peage

There are a wide variety of eye shadows in green and gold out there. There are also fabulous palettes that offer both these colour options. The Revlon Custom Eyes Palette in Metallic Chic (top) is just amazing and has a dark and light version of green with two types of gold and a complimenting silver/ grey shadow. It even shows you how to get the look on the back of the box, so gonna try this look!

Yardley Mystical Jewel offers a nice combo of green and more coppery golds with greys to line your lids and a cream shadow for your brow bone.

The Couleur Caramel is a certified organic and eco-friendly makeup brand and this is the first product I’ve used from them. It’s a wonderful shade of greeny blue that blends beautifully. Find out more about this product from DEA Organics

Rimmel Glam Eyes in Spicy Bronze offers a super shiny, intense gold that is more bronze as apposed to yellow and can be used in so many ways.

Nail Polish

These colours will make great Springbok choices if you wan’t to support your team on your fingertips! Anything from deep blue greens to fern shades, even jade will do. For golds, try find a colour that has a more bronze tone or pile on the coats when choosing something more golden.

Green and Gold Cracked nails

For this quick and easy nail art look, I applied two coats of Inglot green polish in 966 over base coat, allowed it to dry, applied one coat of Tip Tip Crack Me Up in Gold Rush Crackle and finished it off with a coat of clear polish on the other end of the tube.

Good luck to our boys playing tomorrow! Kick some ass!
