Guerlain’s Christmas Look – Sneak Peek

November sees the launch of the beautiful Guerlain Christmas Look. A collection inspired by a midnight blue colour, like a night full of stars…

The inspiration started with a name, a symbol of the fragrance house… the Perfume Vol De Nuit. Beautifully packaged, the perfume leaves a luminous stardust on your skin, punctuating it with blue-green and silvery pearlescent flashes. It can be used on the hair as well, to leave you sparkling all over for Christmas….

I have’nt smelt it yet, but just take a look at the packaging! It’s to die for! As soon as it launches, I will definitely go check it out.

I did get to try some of the goodies in the collection though…

The Perles De Nuit – Guerlain’s Meteorites powder pearls. I’m actually wearing this today and I absolutely love it. Each pearl is coated in a different shade and when you mix them together, you get the most magnificent, luminous powder finish that looks natural and glowing!

They look just like my mom’s pearls! The five shades are created to help correct your skin tone as well as make it look perfectly radiant. Pink will capture light, white will illuminate your complexion, gold will reflect light, orange will give your skin radiance and silver, just adds a touch of light without whitening your complexion.

I also got to play with the Rouge Automatique, Hydrating Long Lasting Lip Colour. Apart from loving the colour, 170 Nuit d’Amour, which I thought I’d hate, this product comes in the most elegant, most sophisticated, most stylish lipstick case I’ve ever seen.

See that little monogrammed “G” on the side? Well, you slide it downwards and the lipstick pops out at the top. Slide it up, and it goes back into place and closes on top.

Clever hey! This colour, 170 Nuit d’Amour is a blackish red, its very dark and very bold. I’m not usually a fan of red lips and I find that black lips look too goth on me, but this one is just the right mix. It’s not quite red and not quite black, but when applied gives your lips bold colour that still looks sophisticated, which I like.

There is also a lighter, more natural pinky shade in 169 Flirt d’un Jour, which is great for daywear and goes with anything.

Other items in the collection include a beautiful pressed powder and blush combo, Parure De Nuit. The design of it looks like Peacock feathers. Take a look in the very first picture, it’s the one on the right at the very top.

Then, there is also an eye shadow quad in Les Ombres De Nuit number 10. Grey, minty green and royal blue irridescent shades with a metallic finish and an extra matte black for liner effects.

Lastly, there is also a second lipstick variation, Rouge G De Guerlain in two colours; Gardner – a deep brick red and Bianca – a pinky-red.

All items in this collection are limited edition and available on counter from 1 November 2011 to 15 February 2012.
