Last week the British Fashion Awards were held at London’s Savoy hotel, hosting a rather starry audience of fashion designers, Hollywood starlets and socialites.
It’s no surprise that fashion’s leading ladies scooped most of the awards, with Sarah Burton winning Designer of The Year, for Alexander McQueen, and Stella McCartney for the Red Carpet Fashion award. McCartney’s spotty-sheer LBD, named “Lucia” is arguable the most photographed dress this year, worn by the likes of Kate Winslet, Liv Tyler, Susan Sarandon and supermodel Doutzen Kroes.
Alexa Chung won the British Style award for the second year in a row, and in true trend setting fashion wore a sparkly Christopher Kane number to the ceremony. Kane went on to win the New Establishment award – his love for neon and colour has made him the one to follow for next year’s summer trends.
The biggest surprise for the night was Posh aka Mrs Beckham beating both Burberry and Tom Ford to the title of best Designer Brand. A teary posh paid tribute to her closest collaborator and hubby Becks – aahhh.
Other stars from the night included Kate Moss, Olivia Palermo, Kate Hudson and Marc Jacobs.
