Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry have each been honoured with a one-of-a-kind Barbie® doll, currently being auctioned off via Charity Buzz in aid of Project Angel Food (a non-profit organisation that provides meals for people affected by AIDS and HIV) .
The Katy Perry Barbie® is a lookalike with Katy’s old blue hairdo and a dress inspired by Katy’s real-life cupcake dress which she wore on her California Dreams tour. The dress includes 70 hand-painted miniature cupcakes while the doll features hand-painted tattoos, sparkling pink shoes, a glittery candy cane microphone and a waffle-cone stage, complete with swirly lollipops, ice-cream mountains and candyfloss clouds.

We all know the rapper, singer and songwriter, Nicki Minaj, is usually larger-than-life, especially after scooping her newly-inked deal with MAC Cosmetics but now we get to see the miniature version of this diva in a dazzling replica of the dress from her Pink Friday album. She looks magical in wispy layers of silk charmeuse and tulle and, of course, she’s rocking some rapper Barbie® bling!

Doll designer, Stephen Sumner, has recreated all the signature details from Nicki’s pink hair to her hand-rooted eyelashes, right down to the tattoo on her left arm. He has also hand-placed each crystal accent on her jewellery.
With just under a week left on the auction, the bidding on the Katy Perry doll is currently on almost R42 000 while the Nicki Minaj doll is currently at R40 000.
Hmm, this definitely offers some food for thought for the girl who has everything…well, almost everything. If not, there’s always a visit to the set of Glee up for grabs.
