Her popularity may have dwindled recently after her failed 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries but Kim Kardashian is clearly still in the pound seats as she is set to make a cool $600 000 (about R4 879 000), hosting an upcoming New Year’s Eve party at Tao Nightclub in Las Vegas this weekend. This amount must surely cover duties going beyond one night’s worth of partying. Tao seems to be a staple for Kim, who rang in the New Year at the same hotspot last year.
Another star set to rake in the cash this New Year is former Black Eyed Peas singer, Fergie, who will earn a not-too-shabby $100 000 (around R813 000) for performing at new nightclub 1Oak at the Mirage Hotel and Casino.
Other celebrities weren’t so fortunate when it came to securing New Year gigs as they demanded too much for an appearance. According to sources, Katy Perry failed to fetch the $250 000 (R2 034 000) price tag she demanded to play for one night.
P. Diddy was apparently close to signing a deal with Hyde Nightclub in Miami but he rejected their offer. Meanwhile, large sums of money have reportedly been thrown at Ashton Kutcher but he has turned them all down.
She might have recently given birth to twins but Mariah Carey couldn’t hit the motherload to perform as takers are few and far between for $500 000 (R4 066 000). Instead, she’ll be resting her vocal cords and spending the the time with her family in Aspen.
