About two months ago, 19-year-old Selena Gomez encouraged a new kind of audience participation when she appealed to her fans to help her select the notes for her new perfume.
She went to New York City recently to meet with ten of her biggest fans, they got to work and the final decision has been made. The top note of the singer’s debut fragrance will be raspberry, the heart of the fragrance will be purple freesia with a vanilla base.
Selena enjoyed the decision-making process with her fans, saying: “They picked out something I’m really excited about and really proud of. It’s really strong and also very feminine. I’m in a place right now where I love intoxicating feelings. You just can’t get enough of it. You want more.”
She’s also been very much involved in the marketing of the perfume and even helped design a gown-shaped bottle with balloons on top. (We haven’t seen the bottle yet.)
Let’s face it. She could always turn to BF, Justin Bieber, for advice on achieving major success with a fragrance, having had his own record-breaking perfume sales.
The fragrance is due to hit shelves in May.
