Nail polish company, Julep, has brought out a range of nail polishes, three of which have been cleverly named after Hollywood’s leading ladies who were nominated for the Best Actress Award at the Oscars. Although it might be part of an appealing marketing strategy, some nominees didn’t crack the nod.
The Julep nail polish collection honours Glenn Close (nominated for Albert Nobbs), Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady) and Viola Davis (nominated for The Help) as well as the coveted gold statuette, which inspired a glittery gold polish, aptly named “Oscar”. The collection also includes colours named after Rachel Weisz, Elizabeth Olsen and Marisa Tomei who were not nominated this year. Nominees, Michelle Williams and Rooney Mara, were not included in the range. Ouch.
