Last week, I was lucky enough to help out at Somerset House for London Fashion Week. From celebrites to bloggers, fashionistas and paparazzi, I’ve never seen so many beautiful people and eccentric fashion styles (very Lady Gaga-esque).
Here are some of the top trends from London:
The made-famous-by Alexa Chung peter-pan collars and menswear for woman are still massively popular amongst fashionistas. The most popular look was a black chiffon skirt worn with chunky jewellery, loads of eyeliner and creepers or flatforms. Flatforms are set to replace the wedge this summer – remember these from back in 1995?
In beauty, there was a set “look” of crimson lips, illuminated cheeks and messy top knots. I did however spot a rising trend – multi coloured dyed eye brows, which was also seen not only on the street but also on the the Prada and Meadham Kirchhoff (below) runways. Nail Rocks were also bigger than ever.
And it wouldn’t be LFW without mentioning Burberry. Christopher Bailey continues to create timeless pieces, and his a/w collection was no exception. Held in a glass-house conservatory in Kensington with a very starry front row, his classic big city-girl trench has gone a bit country-girl tweed. Bows and birds featured on most looks, and I fell in love with the gold fox head clutches.
It was such a great experience being part of London Fashion Week, but who knew fashion could be this exhausting! Until September…
