In this week’s edition of Hot-spotting I’d like to share with you a behind the scenes exclusive featuring one on one interviews with legendary 80s super stars featured in the 80s Rewind Festival SA. Check it out…
When I’m not on the lookout for gorgeous fashion buys or spotting incoming trends I present for The Socialite magazine and in this month’s Video Showcase we were able to scoop the exclusive in covering the 80s Rewind Festival which included the likes of Rick Astley, The Village People, Leee John and Martin Fry.
The night saw thousands flock to the Kings Park Stadium in Durban with a host of acid washed jeans, leg warmers and boldly printed tees to show their love and support for the 80s.
South Africans were treated to one of the most rocking line-ups in the festivals history with the following acts included in the line-up:
- Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet
- Howard Jones
- Rick Astley
- Marc Almond – Soft Cell
- Midge Ure from Ultravox
- ABC – Martin Fry
- Nik Kershaw
- Go West
- The Village People
- Imagination – Leee John
I was dressed and styled by Durban fashion designer Bianca Warren and was sporting shocking pink leg warmers, a black mini skirt and a pink tee with the hit 80s classic “Play Me Like A Guitar”. I was joined by fellow co-host Oscar Anderson who sported a sexy black fitted tee with a pair of suspenders and a pilot hat a la the Village People in Macho Man.
Check out the video below to see our one on ones with the artists and what went on when these legendary artists paid SA a visit for the Rewind Festival…
