Pyjama Trend

Yes you read that right, it’s spring here in London, and pyjamas are trending their way into our spring wardrobes. Now whilst I defy all things floral and pastel-y (so basically spring wear) I’m not convinced that donning my PJs is a suitable alternative.

Stella McCartney S/S 2012

Luxe loungewear was seen on the runways at Stella McCartney, Jil Sander and Richard Nicoll – fashionistas are calling it the “Hef effect”. With Stella being Stella, her pieces were traditional two-piece cotton pyjamas; whilst Jil Sander ranged an interesting(?) paisley variety; and Richard Nicoll, flowy chiffon versions that kinda look like nighties.

So ladies how about it, pyjama trend anyone? Imagine how much time you’d save getting ready in the morning. I’ve spotted some PJ looking items at here at Zara, so check out the new stores in SA for some loungewear items. Luckily summer is a mere fleeting experience in London so the pyjama trend can join the florals and pastels on my “trends I won’t be caught dead in” list.

Apparently this trend is so big amongst US and UK high schools they have put a ban on wearing pjama’s to school. On adults one might question your sanity if you walked into the mall or office in them…
