Woolies Winter Winners
I must be honest, I wasn’t overly keen to let summer go, but after seeing the amazing line up at the Woolworths Winter launch, I’m amped for winter! To get you as excited as I am about winter, check out some of the key trends and gorgeous items you can find at Woolies!
Last season, I wore my blue Technicoloured RE: jeans to death! I was amazed at how many gorgeous eye popping outfits could be created with one pair of good quality, bright blue skinny jeans. This season, blue bottoms are still on trend, with the brightness level turned down a notch to a more jewel-toned teal! Other hot colours include a power purple, a warm wintry brown and deep reds, all of which will help you keep colourful while beating the winter blues!
When this outfit hit the runway at the Woolies Winter launch, I was sold! I love the layered look of this biker-chic style that is still feminine yet fashionable and sexy! You could pull off this look quite easily with the right pair of ankle boots, a gorgeous leather-look bomber jacket and a plain black tee.
I’d rock this look with these Fold Over Cuffed Lace Up Boots (R399) and the same jacket the model is wearing, which is a RE: Crushed Leather-Look Bomber Jacket (R499).

Shorts for winter? Why not? A pair of shorts can look great in winter and still keep you warm when worn with a pair of black opaque tights and a pair of fabulous shoes (of course!)
Take a style tip from Kate Moss and wear shorts in winter! Although Kate looks smoking hot with her black boots and black tights, can you just imagine how trendy these shorts would look with a pair of Camel Coloured Lace up Wedge Boots (R399) like these?
Other key essentials you will need to complete this look in style, is a pair of black opaque tights or even brown tights, a black tee and a black or camel cardigan or jacket. Look at mixing up different textures to really nail this look! Kate image via WhoWhatWear.comIf you still haven’t invested in a little black shift dress, better get cracking! This item is one wardrobe must have that will never go out of fashion! It’s such a versatile piece, that can be dressed up with pair of sky-high heels and layered accessories, or dressed down with leggigns, lace up boots and layered over a contrasting poloneck. I love the little cap sleeves and pocket detail on this dress and I can see so many outfits with it already!
Beautiful model Natalia Vodianova looks elegant, chic and well styled at Paris Fashion week in a gorgeous shift dress that she’s paired over a classic black polo neck. Notice the roll up sleeve and bare legs. This is a great way to prevent the outfit from wearing you and clever trick you can use when styling this little shift dress like Natalia.
This red Form-fitting Ribbed Poloneck (R199) would look great under the shift dress. Remember roll up those sleeves and show some skin. Keep legs bare with sheer stockings (or choose the Blackmail shade) and add texture with these Stiletto Suede Ankle Boots (R399). Image of Natalia via moicontrelavie.com
Blazers always seem to give any ol’ outfit a polished look. Perhaps that’s Kim Kardashian’s secret to always looking so pulled together? She’s a button up, blazer devotee!
Another trend you’ll see a lot of this winter are elbow patches! It may not be everyone’s cup of tea – especially if your mom forced you into wearing those bland corduroy pants with brown suede knee patches – but the patch is big business and this season it’s being re-invented into a style statement!
This blazer really will go with everything. You can wear it with the coloured skinny pants, the winter shorts and the shift dress that I featured above! Say it with me now, “investment piece”.
Look how uber cool it looks on sassy style blogger Style Pantry. Her blog is just amazing and filled with such trendy outfit posts! Style Pantry is also probably the only style blogger “I know” who can pull off big hair, bold arm candy, knuckle duster rings and draping necklaces, and all at the same time!
Key Item: Blazer from R450.00
