After nearly 20 years, Angel’s dazzling star gives birth to an undulating comet. Familiar yet still uniquely different, it’s a new way to get captivated by the powers of Angel!
One of my all time favourite fragrances, right up there next to my Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme is Thierry Mugler’s Angel! It’s one of those fragrances that is so unique, there is nothing quite like it. Many of you will agree, that when it comes to Angel, you either love it or you hate it. For me, it’s always been love at first spritz!
New to the Angel galaxy, this April sees the launch of Thierry Mugler’s Angel in an Eau De Toilette version, named The Comet.
Up until now Angel was only available as an Eau De Parfum, and because it is already such a powerful scent, a lot of people found it a bit overpowering. The new Angel EDT Comet is unmistakably Angel, but definitely a lot softer. With the EDP, the moment you sprayed it on, you felt it’s powers! Comet takes a little longer to develop and in a more subtle way. It has that same familiar, legendary and totally out of this world Angel scent, with a twist, revealing new charms and making it more oriental-gourmand-powdery.
If you didn’t like Angel EDP before because it was so overpowering, this might be the perfect time for you to re-discover a new Angel!
Angel Comet EDT is composed of three sensual waves;
- A Celestial Wave powered by Bergamot exploding with pepper
- A Delicious Wave with subtle dabs of praline and berries,
- and a Voluptuous Wave of patchouli-vanilla, tempered by cedar and a white musk base. Mmm!
I snapped this pic to show you the difference between the bottles of my original Angel EDP (right) and the new Angel Comet EDT (Left). Needless to say my Angel EDP is empty (although you probably couldn’t tell) and I’ve been meaning to get it refilled, but at least you see both Angels in all their gorgeousness!
Like the original Angel EDP, The Comet EDT also comes in an eco-sourced bottle, making it refillable. Angel Comet is available in 50ml and 80ml versions. The 80ml one (pictured above next to my 50ml Angel EDP) retails at R850.
Comet even has its own it’s own language! To understand it, remove the star-shaped cap from the bottle. Then extend your arm and spray the fragrance generously in front of you, while turning the bottle in a circular motion to create a vibrant cloud. Take a step into the halo and let’s it charm take hold of you!
What do you think of Angel? Do you love it or loathe it?
