Your Winter to Spring Wardrobe Sorted

I’m so over winter and while it’s still pretty chilly outside, I don’t want to spend any more money on boots and winter fashion! In a few weeks we’ll be welcoming spring and I’d rather stock up on cheerful spring outfits instead.

So, I popped into Woolies to see what’s in store. I’m looking for fashionable items that I can wear today, but that will carry me into the next season, so I don’t have to spend more money come springtime. Well, I was pleasantly surprised at all the items Woolies has on offer right now… Pretty button up blouses, lightweight fashionable scarves, trendy trousers and cute cardigans, all perfect for your Winter into Spring Wardrobe

The Viscose Shirt

Viscose is one of my favourite fabrics! It’s light, comfy, easy to wear and because it falls beautifully on the body, it looks like it’s been made just for you! I absolutely love this slightly sheer viscose shirt (R299) from Woolworths, available in purple or teal. It’s got a longer length back, which means you can wear it with leggings – great for winter. To make it shorter, just tie a knot in the front or tuck it into your jeans – remember the fabric is lightweight, so won’t look bulky or stiff.

I also love the roll up sleeves on this piece. Great for wearing it long or three quarter for when the season changes. I suspect this will be a hot, hot item, so I’d say get one in each colour, just in case it’s gone!

The Scarf

Scarves are always a great way to add a little uniqueness to your outfit and can be worn in any season, especially for the transition from winter into spring. I love these lighter weight scarf selections on the left (R120 each). This black and white one with neon accents from RE: (also R120) is such an on-trend piece for next spring!

Pattern Pants

Remember we spoke about how trendy and cool wide legged pants were? Well, we’re loving these viscose pattern wide legged pants from Woolworths (R375). They are great for your Winter into Spring Wardrobe. In winter you can wear them with boots underneath, a fitted tank top and a cropped knit jersey. For the transition into spring, change up your boots for cute sandals or wedges and a strappy vest. No need to spend more money on season specific pants, these are perfect and they come with a great double belt.

Comfy Trousers

The Pajama trend is huge for spring, but we’re not talking about your Garfield out-of-bed pajama’s! We’re talking trendy, stylish dressing that’s comfy enough to sleep in! These Studio.W pleated pants (R350) are perfect for both winter and spring. Wear them with ankle boots in winter, and with cute, nude flats for spring into summer. All you need on top is a vest, button up shirt or cropped jersey!

Geometric prints

Geometric prints are bold and fashionable. Seen all over the Woolworths store, this item is a sure winner. Wear it as a dress or over leggings and boots for a more winter look!

  • Love this retro geometric tunic with kimono sleeves (R250) shown here on the mannequin. The short sleeves make it great for spring, but to keep warm in winter, wear it over a long sleeved top. It looks great with leggings or tights, and for warmer weather, it can be worn over a pencil skirt or shorts!
  • More geometric prints; this time a lovely teal dress (R350). How cute is the little zipper on the collarbone? Again, this can be worn as a dress or over leggings.
  • Gorgeous green and bold dot printed dress (R350) with cute zipper pocket detail in the front.

Winter to Spring Shoes

From left; Coral Strappy Cork Wedges, Lace up Brogues, Black Peep Toe Woven Wedges, Teal Stack heels Cream and Brown Closed Wedges

Shoes can be the tough part when buying items for your Winter into Spring Wardrobe. You don’t want to go out and buy season specific shoes, especially when we’re almost done with winter. It’s also a tough transition, because as we head into spring, it can often be too hot to wear boots, but still too cold to wear sandals… So what do you do?

Lace up brogues (R199) are a great option and look chic with opaque tights for winter or bare legged with cute little summer dresses. If you’re more of a sandal girl, yes, you can wear open toe shoes in both winter and spring! Just look for shoes in bright colours like these coral wedges (R199) or teal stack heels (R399) and wear them with black tights. When the season changes, lose the tights, go bare legged and show off those brightly coloured pedicured toes!

If you’re not into the tights and opened toed shoes look then these black peep toe woven wedges (R375) and cream cork wedges (R350) will keep your toesies warm in winter and not too hot in spring!

Cardi’s

Longer length cardigans in various colours ranging between R275 – R299

Cardigans have got to be the ultimate Winter into Spring items to have! Wear them in winter underneath your jacket, so that when you’re indoors you don’t die of heat! In spring they serve as great daytime cover-ups and can even come in handy in summer for chilly evenings.

Bright shorter cardi’s (R199) can liven up your Winter into Spring look

Shorts

One trend to try before the weather gets too hot, is cute shorts worn with opaque tights and ankle boots or brogues! These cute charcoal corduroy shorts (R275) look absolutely amaze with these luxury velvet touch tights (R69.95). Try this trend with denim shorts too!

With these pieces you won’t have to go out and spend a fortune on new clothes, when we finally bid farewell to winter! They are great items to wear right now and they will take you into the next season with style!

I like the winter to spring shoes! Just think that they are probably to cold for winter times. The pajama trend trousers are very cool and fashionable. Can be combined with other things in a very cool way.
