Olympic Proportions

The Olympics start today. And one fashion icon is more than ready. Karl Lagerfeld has designed a capsule collection for Selfridges inspired by the sporting event.

Earlier this week, the man himself was in London to help launch the collection and his pop-up store at Selfridges. The launch party was held on the rooftop of the London department store and was attended by some of fashion’s most fabulous including Daphne Guinness, Suzy Menkes and Poppy Delevingne.

Among the Olympic-insignia items, you can expect to find t-shirts, biker jackets, skirts and skinny jeans. Most of the items feature torch and gold medal prints while one t-shirt has Uncle Karl in his suit getting ready to launch a discus.

Prices for the items start from R400 to R1200. Apart from the sporty collection, the designer’s “Karl” label will also be on sale.
