Military is predicted to be one of the hottest trends for fall so it’s a good time to be thinking of how you can “armify” your wardrobe. And lucky for us girls there are a bunch of ways to wear modern military, here’s some inspiration.
The key piece for this trend is a military jacket. For a modern take, look for a military coat that has oversized epaulets, and big buttons. A military dress (above), seen on the runways of Moshino and Victoria Beckham, is also a great alternative. Colour wise think khaki and shades of grey, and try incorporate detailing like leather paneling or stud like buttons.
I’ve taken this trend down the path of a large lapelled, slate grey parka (and I can say that since I’ve literally just ordered mine from ASOS!). Parkas were featured strongly at both Burberry and Elizabeth and James, and not only is it a great in-between jacket but you can switch it up pretty easily. An oversized parka in camo with lots of zips and bulgy pockets says sporty and slouchy, but a more fitted, dark khaki parka with a belt nipped in at the waist can be dressy.
