We’ve seen the likes of Barbie and Miss Piggy star in designer campaigns and editorials, so it was only a matter of time before the Disney stars made their fashion debut.
New York department store Barney’s has enlisted the help of Disney stars such as Minnie and Mickey Mouse, Daisy Duck, Goofy and Cruella de Vil among others to front their campaign for the upcoming festive season.
The Electric Holiday campaign sees Minnie Mouse take centre stage as she does her thing in Lanvin. She also features in a short film where she dreams about sitting front row at fashion week. Other cartoon characters getting the couture treatment include Daisy Duke in bespoke Dolce & Gabbana, Mickey Mouse in Balenciaga, Princess Tiana in Proenza Schouler and Cruella de Vil in Rick Owens.
To celebrate the collaboration, Barneys will also be selling an exclusive collection of Disney-themed items like figurines designed by Diane von Furstenberg and Rag & Bone-designed Mickey Mouse ears.
