I had a really tough time choosing a new colour for my Shellac nails yesterday. I’d been dying to try something from their Spring 2013 Sweet Dreams Collection which has some beautiful pastel colours.
But, it was so hard to pick just one! Being indecisive and greedy at the same time, I decided to have a little fun with my nails. The end result (thanks to the amazing Jo-D), was this fun, polka dotty nail art design. I love it!
This is such a fun nail art design, and I’m really digging it! It makes me feel like a kid again. Best of all, (like a kid) I got my way, by getting to wear three of the new colours, all at the same time!
To achieve this nail art design, here are the colours that were used:
- Thumb – Cake Pop *new
- Index Finger – Gotcha (an old favourite)
- Middle Finger – Azure Wish *new
- Ring Finger – Cream Pop (white) with polka dots using Blackpool
- Pinky – Limeade *new with a thin layer of Romantique
The lime green on my pinky finger is quite a metallic shade and, on it’s own, it didn’t really compliment the pastel-pretty design. So, to mattify it and create a more pastely shade, Jo-D applied a thin layer of Romantique over it, which resulted in the perfect pastel green. The polka dot effect was created by applying this gorgeous, solid white (Cream Puff) and then dotting it with Blackpool. The effect came out really nice, and to bling it out a bit, Jo-D added some subtle sparkle to my plainer nails.
Colours from the Sweet Dreams Collection: Grapefruit Sparkle, Cake Pop, Lilac Longing, Azure Wish and Limeade
What do you think of this design? Love it or hate it? Comment below, I’d love to know your thoughts
