CHANEL Makeup Collection Superstition for Autumn/ Fall 2013

Ladies, brace yourselves for Chanel’s new autumn makeup collection, Collection Superstition that launches in South Africa on the 16th August!

Gabrielle Chanel believed in luck.
Her private world was filled with talismans,
which served both as good-luck charms and sources of inspiration.

The Autumn 2013 Collection reinterprets superstition with a playful and surrealist spirit.
Mixing sumptuous tones of bronze, taupe and khaki with the magic of a golden beige, intense pink or burgundy palette,
like a joyful prediction of beauty.

I got to play around with some of the makeup, and as always, I am in love! CHANEL makeup never seems to disappoint! Their products are such high quality and totally worth the splurge!

The LES 4 OMBRES MYSTÈRE quad is gorgeous! It has both muted and slightly shimmered shades that can be used in many different combinations. The black shade (top left) has a gorgeous undertone of golden sparkle, as does the golden ivory next to it. The colours below include two shades of Khaki and are lovely.

As with all Chanel Eye shadows, they are super high quality, highly pigmented and there is no fall out, so you don’t waste a single speckle!

The single eye shadows, Ombre Essentielle are available in two shades, a light lavender called Hasard (as featured in my pic) and Gri-Gri which is a metallic taupe shimmer.

I’m a big fan of cream blush, so I was happy to see that this collection from CHANEL had some lovely cream blushers. I got to play with Presage, an apricot, almost peachy shade. The texture is soft and not as creamy as you’d expect. It almost turns to a powder finish on the skin and blends beautifully.

The case of the blusher is a lot more compact than the standard CHANEL blush compacts, and comes in six shades. Destiny (intense beige), Presage (apricot), Revelation (coral pink), Inspiration (soft blush pink), Affinite (intense blush pink) and Fantastic (burgandy).

The lippies from this collection are soft, playful and pretty! Rouge Coco is one of my fave lipsticks. I love its texture and durability. Mystique is a pretty apricot shade infused with tiny sparkles. The other colour in this collection is Icone – a more earthy tone.

For lip glosses, Rouge Coco Shine comes in a mix of soft pinks to plum tones in 4 different shades; Secret (coral), Instinct (soft blush pink), Rendez-Vouz (intense blush pink)  and Espirit (burgundy).

The lippies collection also match perfectly to the cream blush.

The nail colours are dressy and intense, matching this collection perfectly. I got to sample the the two shades of Khaki, Alchimie which has a gold, metallic effect and Mysterious, which is a really dark khaki with hints of charcoal grey.

The third nail colour in this collection is Elixir, a pink that takes on a milky, slightly grey tone.

One of my all time fave shades (even though I was too late and it sold out before I could grab it) is Chanel Khaki Vert. Mysterious almost reminds me of that colour, just in a much darker, and more grey version.

You can tell from this stunning Khaki Bronze Le Volume De Chanel mascara that Chanel makeup is getting really exciting! Their Spring/ Summer 2013 collection featured their

  • Inimitable Waterproof Mascara in gorgeous shades of blue and green, and now their winter collection, adds a twist to basic black.

Le Volume De Chanel Mascara is a new mascara that launched in May this year and came out in three standard shades. Khaki Bronze is a limited edition version of this same, lush mascara! Love it!

And last but not least in this collection, a product I didn’t get to try out but know I will love it, is their Stylo Yeux Waterpoof retractable eyeshadow. The colour is in Khaki Precieux and it’s a gorgeous shade that combines shimmering bronze and khaki. I’ve tried out Stylo Yeux Waterproof eye shadow in Black Stream and Jayde Shore, which were introduced with their previous collection (Spring/ Summer 2013) and they are amazing on the eyes!

Too gorgeous! It’s a bit weird having Autumn colours coming out when we’re going into Spring, but I am absolutely getting the cream blush in Presage and the Rouge Coco in Mystique. They will do nicely for summer too!

      Hey Bronwyn
Just followed up with Chanel and two of the shades of blush were delivered late from France. Apparently they will be on counter next week, but there is a waiting list, so best you get there soon!

      Good luck
