Week 2: Kiehl’s #ChangeYourSkin Challenge

So, my fab five and I are into our second week of the Kiehl’s #ChangeYourSkin Challenge. And, judging by the feedback, including my own experience, these two products are a super award worthy combo!

One thing more than half of us have noticed is how much easier it is to apply our makeup!

Read on to discover how else our skin has changed after just two weeks…

Dimi (33) says

kiehls-dimiLet me start by saying that I am in LOVE! My skin is looking freaking fantastic! I can’t get over how great it looks, despite the massive shock it must’ve received going from Durban’s humid climate, to dry and itchy Joburg winters!

I’ve been using the Dermatologist Solutions Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate twice a day (morning and night), followed by the Midnight Recovery Concentrate in the evening.

I’ve fine tuned my routine to two pumps of the Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate and three to five drops of the Midnight Recovery Concentrate, which I found works best when “dabbed” into the skin.

My skin is not oily at all, and even though I do have combination skin, I found that during the day, I haven’t felt any oiliness in my T-Zone. This is a huge plus for me, since my makeup is staying on much, much longer. I can even see my foundation, when I wash “my face off” at night. Before there would be little or no foundation on my facecloth, but man, oh man, it’s all there now!

I think the combination of these two products equals a real winning skincare routine!

I’m totally hooked on the Dermatologist Solutions Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate. I’ve used a Vitamin C treatment before that worked wonders, but it was for a course of three months (three on three off), so I’m really glad that this product can be used on an ongoing basis.

After two weeks on the Kiehl’s Change Your Skin Challenge, my skin is not only smoother, but really looks bright, young and radiant. I haven’t been using any additional eye creams and “line fillers”, and am really impressed by how much my fine lines (in my forehead and eye area) have reduced!

VANESSA (40) says

kiehls-vanessaSo we are though our second week of our Kiehls 28 day Challenge, which means we are half way there!

I cannot wait to see the condition of my skin in two weeks time!  I have already seen a remarkable improvement in just under two weeks!

The texture and tone of my skin has improved, as well as its radiance. It is also a lot smoother and my make up seems to be going on a lot easier these days.

I also seem to be using less foundation than normal which is great!!!

Just this week, I have had three friends ask me how my skin challenge is going and how I am finding the Kiehl’s products. I have encouraged all of them to try both the the Midnight Recovery Concentrate as well as the Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate.

Cath, my beautician friend, said she can see a definite improvement in the condition of my skin and that was a real bonus to hear that from her.

Maybe I won’t need to save for my facelift after all………………..lol!

LOUISE (29) says

kiehls-louiseWeek 2 and I am still loving the products!

Now that my skin has had a chance to “get used” to the products, I started exfoliating, so that the active ingredient in the Dermatologist Solutions Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate could penetrate deeply into the skin and stimulate new cell growth.

I have been applying the concentrate in a circular motion. This week, I haven’t found the need for moisturizer, so I just apply sunscreen in the day.

Last week, my skin was feeling a little flush, but now seems to have gotten used to the product. So, I apply it every other day, twice a day.

My skin is noticeably more radiant. It’s soft and supple, exactly what I needed this winter.

Throughout the day, I’ve noticed that my skin doesn’t look tired, and I have a healthy glow, that lasts all day long! Best of all, my skin doesn’t feel dehydrated (thanks to the permanent air-con at the salon)

The Midnight Recovery Concentrate is my favourite! It feels like a drop of magical oil on my face. I apply it to my skin using the dropper and massage it into my skin. The smell is divine and I can’t get over how many amazing oils this one little product contains.

I usually get congestion around my nose area when I use oils on my face, but I haven’t had any problems with the Midnight Recovery Concentrate.

At the beginning of the week, I decided to spoil my husband with a DIY at-home facial. I used the Midnight Recovery Concentrate and massaged it into his face. He commented that his skin felt really good, and the next night he asked for more – so although I’m not happy sharing my magical oil, I don’t mind if my hubby’s skin looks as good as mine!

LUZANNE (31) says

kiehls-luzanne

I’m still applying my Dermatologist Solutions Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate in the mornings and evenings, followed up with the Midnight Recovery Concentrate in the evenings.

The Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate has become a firm favourite in my skin care routine, as I can really see the changes it has made in my skin.

The serum contains a high concentration of Vitamin C, which is regarded as the world’s best antioxidant and arch enemy of free radicals (negatively charged cells that cause cell death).

After just 2 weeks my skin looks brighter, smoother to the touch and overall healthier!

The Midnight Recovery Concentrate is an overnight elixir to help repair and replenish the level of moisture in the skin while you sleep. I find a little goes a long way, 3 drops are enough to cover my face and neck area.

I’ve made the mistake of applying too much of this product, and I wake up with skin that is a little bit too ‘glowy’ for my liking.

Using both products for the past two weeks has changed the look and feel of my skin – my makeup applies a lot smoother and I have at long last, gotten rid of the flakiness on my upper forehead area.

I can’t wait to see how my skin improves over the next 2 weeks!!

CAMILLA (27) says

kiehls-camillaI still can’t get over how amazing the Midnight Recovery Concentrate smells! I look so forward to applying it to my skin every night just before bed.

I find the concentrate quite oily, but if I stick to the 5 drop instruction on the bottle then it seems just right.

I am still equally obsessed with the texture of the Dermatologist Solutions Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate, but I think that the powerful boost of Vitamin C has given my skin a bit of a shock.

Last week, I had a dry patch of skin on my right cheek, which has since disappeared. However, I now have developed a bit of a breakout on my t-zone which is rather unusual.

I’m not sure if the breakout is hormonal or from the new products, but hopefully I’ll know soon. Kiehl’s have kindly offered for me to go chat to one of the consultants at the Kiehl’s store to see what she thinks.

I’ll keep you all posted!

NOSIPHO (33) says

kiehls-nosiphoI’ve noticed that although my complexion is looking brighter and more even, I’m feeling a lot oiler during the day.

This is a slight problem since I mostly go make up free and I hate feeling shiny.

It’s not extreme and nothing that a few clean tissues can’t solve, but just an observation. Due to this, I’m limiting the amount of Midnight Recovery Concentrate I’m using to see if it makes a difference.

On the bright side, I was really ill last week and my nose started peeling. Even though the skin around my nose was raw and really sensitive, none of the products burned or gave any adverse reaction. In fact, I noticed my nose healed up really quickly!

I’m still happy to continue with the products and can’t wait to see what week 3 has in store for me.

I chatted to my doctor and she said I must lower the dosage of the meds I am taking, that’s what’s causing the breakouts!
