7 Beauty Splurges worth the Hype

If you’re looking to spoil yourself with something beautiful, I’ve rounded up my seven favourite high-end beauty products, that are totally worth the splurge!

Clarisonic Plus

high-end-makeup-and-beauty-splurges-worth-the-hype-clarisonic-plus

Yes, yes, I know! A Clarisonic is a pretty pricey beauty splurge, but trust me when I say there is nothing else like it on the market. Or at least, that I’ve tried anyway!

If you’re planning on investing in one (remember Christmas is just around the corner so don’t forget to ask Santa) then I’d really recommend that you put your money towards the Clarisonic Plus.

It’s the Crème de la crème of Clarisonic’s and although it’s the most expensive option, the fact that it has two brush heads that you can use on your face and body, makes it worth it.

I love using mine to cleanse all the makeup gunk off my face at night and I use my body brush to polish my shoulders and arms, which makes them feel soft and beautiful.

Chanel CC Cream

high-end-makeup-and-beauty-splurges-worth-the-hype-chanel-cc-cream

Without a doubt, Chanel CC Cream is T-H-E best CC cream you will ever come across. I’ve tried a ton, and while there have been good and bad ones along the way, the Chanel CC Cream towers above the rest.

It’s so wonderful in fact, that I would take Chanel CC Cream over any foundation! I just wish it was a bit more affordable to use as an every day foundation, but none the less!

When we were in Dubai in April, after an eight hour flight and a very disturbed sleep (if you could even call it that), I promise I looked less than decent as we were making our decent. So I pulled out my Chanel CC Cream and applied it all over my face and tah-daah, I was wide awake and looked fresh as a daisy!

I always loved the Chanel CC Cream, but I only fully appreciated it’s “amazing powers” since that day! Now, I keep it with me in my handbag, for quick “pick me up’s” during the day when I’m out and about.

I would highly recommend that you try it out at one of the Chanel counters. I’m almost certain you will fall in love with it – and when you do, do yourself a favour and splurge! You won’t regret it

NARS ORGASM Blush

high-end-makeup-and-beauty-splurges-worth-the-hype-nars-orgasm-blushOk, now I know NARS isn’t available in South Africa, but if you ever get a chance to get your hands on the NARS Orgasm Blush, through friends or family abroad or on your travels – I say do it!

I attempted to buy it when I was overseas in 2012 since I was hellbent on getting one. When I found it, I was like naaah, it’s pretty pricey and I don’t really need it. Something I later regretted. Then I made the same dumbass mistake in 2013. Again, I thought I did’nt need it that much and I could make do with what I had. When I got home I could’ve kicked myself once again.

Finally when I went to London in August last year, I just took the plunge and bought one. And I am so glad I did! In terms of “needing it”, yes I did! I haven’t found anything that has come close to the magical, subtle golden sparkle and the most perfect perk of peach blush.

Filorga Time Filler

high-end-makeup-and-beauty-splurges-worth-the-hype-filorga-time-filler

This product! Man, oh man! It is AMAZING. If I had to choose just one skincare product, Filorga Time Filler would probably be it!

You’ve probably seen me mention it a ton here on StyleScoop, but in case you haven’t, Filorga Time Filler is a cream that has a “botox-like” effect.

It limits the contractions in your face and helps to relax muscles. It also has hyaluronic acid that helps to diffuse lines and fill them in to give you both a long term and immediate effect.

I use mine religiously every night (sometimes in the day as well), and now that I’ve been using it for about three years, I honestly think that it has gone a long, long way into keeping the wrinkles at bay.

While Filorga Time Filler wont take away your wrinkles completely, it certainly helps to keep them under control.

I highly recommend that you try it out.

Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel

high-end-makeup-and-beauty-splurges-worth-the-hype-soleil-tan-de-chanel

Oh! Em! Gee!

I had read tons of raves about this product, and seen it on all my Beauty Vloggers channels’. I wanted it! I needed it, and I am so glad that I caved and bought it.

I had been lusting after it for years, so on my birthday this year, I treated myself to one. And boy am I so glad that I did! It’s the perfect bronzer, contour, skin warming beauty product on the planet!

I’ve had mine since March, and I still have a long, long way to go before I need to replace it. To put this into perspective, I use mine at least 4-5 times a week, either to contour my cheekbones and sides of my nose, or to warm up my skin to make it look more summery.

It’s a cream formula and blends flawlessly into your skin, giving you a gorgeous sunkissed glow without appearing orange or muddy.

A small amount goes a long way, and the best thing about it is that it is blendable, so if you want to create a more dramatic look, it’s all in the layering process.

Just a quick tip! The best way I’ve found to apply this product is with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush as it’s perfect for “buffing it in”, but any buffing type of brush should do the trick. Otherwise apply it with your fingertips and work it into the skin by patting and pushing the product in.

I LOVE IT!

L’Occitane Immortelle Cream Mask

high-end-makeup-and-beauty-splurges-worth-the-hype-loccitane-immortelle-cream-mask

This is one of those must have beauty products to keep in your stash to use it when you feel the need. It’s basically a super rich, super indulgent, super hydrating mask that leaves your skin feeling like a million bucks!

If you have very dry skin, then apply it all over, but it’s also fab if you have “dry patches” (face and body) that need a little extra TLC.

Since it’s quite rich, I apply it at night so that it can work it’s magic while I sleep. In the morning, I wake up with skin that looks glorious.

L’Occitane Imortelle Cream is made from the “Immortelle” flower, which is a flower that doesn’t die (even after it has been picked), making this creamy mask,  pure amazement in a jar!e

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate

high-end-makeup-and-beauty-splurges-worth-the-hype-kiehls-midnight-recovery-concentrateAnother product to keep in your “stash” or one that you can use every day for beautiful skin the next day.

This potent over-night repair oil is like sleep in a bottle. Overnight it helps to regenerate, repair and replenish the skin giving it a healthier, smoother and more glowing effect.

It works with the skin’s natural nocturnal activity when skin is most receptive to repairing itself from daily aggressors to dramatically restore skin and it is 99.8% naturally-derived.

A little goes a long way, and the best way to apply this product is adding a drop or two to your moisturiser or layering a few drops over your moisturiser by patting it in (as apposed to “smearing”) it onto your skin.

Price: R700

So that’s my top high-end beauty splurges that I love.

What do you gals think? Have you used any of the above, or if you have a splurge that’s totally worth it, comment below and let me know – would love to hear what makes your gals’ hearts skip a beat.

xx

I completely agree with the Nars and the L’Occitane. Oooh the Clarisonic has been on my wishlist for what feels like forever. Not sure if I am ready to part with that amount of cash for it though, I always choose shoes instead!
