Ahhh, summer days are drawing to an end, and all I can think about is going back to the beach!
I miss my old city, Durban, and while I love it here in Jozi, I really do miss the beach!
The thing with living in Durban with the beach “right there”, is how many times do you actually go when you’re a “local”?
We lived in Durbs for 10 years, and the beach was literally 20km away from home – which is a drive to the mall here – but we didn’t really go all that much. The beach just became something that was there, something that you didn’t have to take advantage of, and now that it’s not up the road, I miss it!
When we went back for a holiday in December, we spent at least three full days just lazing on the beach and it was magnificent!
Do any of you guys feel this way? How far is the beach from you and do you take advantage of it?
For me, I think we take full advantage of the beach fully, when were on holiday. Perhaps because, when you’re on holiday, life doesn’t get in the way, but I’m curious to see hear your thoughts.
Comment below, let me know!

I don’t live near the beach, so when we go on holiday I take full advantage. I do think that if I lived in a beach town, I would probably go to the beach alot. I love it!
As a holiday goer, I take full advantage of every beach day. Just wish I had when I was a local 🙂
I live close to the sea now and I could not bear not to see the see for a long period of time! It’s life giving!!!
I’m jealous 🙂
My fave part about living in Durban was that I could at least see the sea, so I know what you mean 🙂
Guuurl, I live in Umhlanga and I don’t even go to the beach! I just like that it’s there and I can see the ocean every day. May go this weekend as I have heard that it’s going to be nice and hot and I need a tan!
