New Makeup Launches To Look Out For – Part 1

Hey Beauties! It’s a new season, which means time to update your makeup collection! There are so many new goodies to make you smile, so if you’re looking for something new and exciting, then you’ve come to the right place, because I’ve got the scoop on the latest collections from some of my favourite makeup brands!

There’s a whole lot, so to keep this post short ‘n sweet, I’ve split up my New Makeup Launches To Look Out For into two parts. Today’s post will focus on Lancome and Elizabeth Arden and Part 2 will feature new launches from Maybelline and Essie, so keep an eye out for those later this week!

Let’s dive into today’s post shall we?

From Lancome…

Lancome has three new launches that have me feeling all excited!

If you watched my February Favourites video on my Youtube channel, then you’ve already heard me ohh-and-ahhh about the new Grandiose Extreme Mascara and Grandiose Liner, and just as I thought things couldn’t get any better, Lancome launch the new Teint Idole Ultra Cushion Foundation!

I am 100% in love!

I’ve always loved Lancome foundations for thier flawless finish that enhance texture, but their new Teint Idole Ultra Cushion Foundation is next level amazing!

I can’t get over the super glowy texture that evens out my skin tone without making me look overly made up!

If you thought you couldn’t get the best of both worlds – with a lightweight and high-coverage foundation then think again! This baby is it! It has micro-pigments that blur imperfections with a satin glow finish to enhance the skin’s texture.

The technology behind Teint Idole Ultra Cushion Foundation is thanks to a gelling agent whose viscosity decreases when disturbed.

At first, the formula is dense and thick so that it can hold onto the sponge cushion. Once you press into the product, the mesh covering the sponge reduces the viscosity of the JEL-LIQUID technology and fluidises the formula, making it easy to apply and smooth onto the skin. On contact with the epidermis, part of the formula’s ingredients evaporate, causing the temperature of the skin surface to immediately drop by 1.7°C!

The result? Long lasting, ultra-aha-mazing coverage that is light as a feather. I needed only a bit of concealer to colour correct my melasma, but otherwise this foundation covers beautifully and it lasted so well on me!

At no point did I look cakey, sweaty or like I was having any sort of makeup meltdown!

Here’s the fab dab thing about this foundation; The first time you buy it, it will cost you R499.00 (for 13 grams), making it on par with other high end foundations. Then, when you use it all up you can purchase a 13g re-fill for R350.00. Pretty amazing right? You just use your same compact and fill it up as needed.

Lancome Grandiose Liner

If you love liquid liners, flicks and graphic enhanced eyes but you felt limited in what a liner could do, then you’ll love this baby! It’s the amazing, the incredible, the coolest liquid liner I have ever laid my eyes on! Lancome Grandiose Liner (R340.00).

Inspired by the techniques of makeup artists, Lancome Grandiose Liner gives you the flexibility YOU want to create your look, your way! How? With a genius handle that is not only super long (allowing you to hold it correctly) but it has a pivoting, 35-degree curve that allows to bend and flick with ease.

The formula is solid, with an effect that can go from a thin stroke, light as a feather to an enhanced, bold and beautiful graphic stroke.

Additionally, the strokes stay the blackest-black all day long and the formula dries down to a matte finish that won’t budge until you remove it with makeup remover.

I am obsessed to say the least!

Lancome Grandiose Extreme Mascara

I’ve said it before, and I will say it again – Lancome Mascara’s are my favourite. I do love lots of other brands of mascara as well, but if I had to pick just one brand of mascara to use, I reckon Lancome would be it.

I was obsessed with their Hypnose Mascara (and still am), then came the – first Grandiose Mascara – I cried when I ran out of it- and now, Grandiose Extreme Mascara is the latest obsession!

Lancome Grandiose Extreme Mascara (R415) is an even more intense, deeper, darker, blacker mascara that gives you the thickest, most lush lashes on the planet.

Like the first Grandiose Mascara, the new Extreme version features the same “Swan Neck” wand that gives your lashes more va-va-voom from the root of your lash, all the way to the tip. The only difference is that it now comes with even more volume! Volume thanks to the high charge brush, a new colour-boosting polymer and fine pigments that make lashes blacker than black!

I love how easy the wand is to use, I don’t poke my eyes out and the formula is just heavenly! Even when I build onto it  (because how can you resist more volume), it coats my lashes without any clumps or fall out and I get seriously long, lush lashes!

From Elizabeth Arden…

Hands up if you’re a fan of Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour! Yeah, I see you and I’m waving my hands up in the air right there with you! Now, prepare to sway your arms side to side, because the new Eight Hour Miracle Hydrating Mist is a new launch that will excite you!

It’s got the lightest, most magical hydrating mist, that when sprayed, is like a welcomed gentle sea breeze rather than being drowned when you spritz.

Powered by a blend of super-fruits that are rich in vitamins and antioxidants, Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Miracle Hydrating Mist (R350.00) instantly wakes up the skin and can be used any hour of any day to give your skin a quick pick me up.

It’s a perfect handbag essential for on the go, whenever your skin is need of a little hydration boost and it is suitable for all skin types.

It’s also ideal for travel, as it’s packaged in a TSA approved 100ml bottle, so you can spritz yourself to fabulousness on the plane without having to worry about decanting! I can’t wait to take it with me on my next overseas trip!

it smells like a heavenly blend of citrus and rose and even though I’m loving the 100ml TSA approved bottle, I could do with an extra large size for my vanity or bedside too!
