New Skincare Launches

July 5, 2017

If you’re all about keeping your pulse on new skincare launches, you’ll know that with every new season, comes a new range of skincare products to help you target the new climate changes.

And this winter, there have been some fantabulous new launches. In addition to these new kids on the block, I’ve also been trying out some “new” skincare products – that are not necessarily new (as in a new launch), but new in my skincare game.

For today however, I wanted to focus on the new launches so you know what’s potting, and a little later this month, I’ll feature some of the new-to-me skincare products that I’ve been playing with.

Okay, so let’s get into it shall we?

Filorga Optim-Eyes Patch…

These are pretty amazing, especially if you’re looking for a quick fix eye treatment that is literally, fuss free!

They are like little eye masks that get to work in 10 minutes. With an active substance extracted from yeast, the patches help to stimulate microcirculation, thereby reducing dark circles.

They also target bags and smooth wrinkles to provide you with brighter eyes after just one use.

I tested them out after a really sleep deprived weekend and even though my body was drained, my eyes looked fresh as a daisy!

Filorga Optim-Eyes Patch comes in a box of eight patches that are designed for a single use. They have built in technology to provide a second-skin effect. Which means, the patch perfectly follows the contours of the eye, and you can wear them will getting other tasks out of the way.

Price: R670 per box
Get it from: Selected Edgars, Red Square and Clicks stores nationwide.

La RochePosay Effaclar Duo+ SPF 30

If you suffer with oily skin, skin imperfections or acne, then this new launch from French dermocosmetic acne brand, La Roche Posay is definitely worth considering.

EFFACLAR DUO + SPF 30 helps to correct skin imperfections, unclog pores, provide care for acne prone skin, all whilst shielding against future environmental damage.

Price: R240 fro 40ml of product

Eau Thermale Avene Hydrance OPTIMALE Skin Tone Perfector

With winter comes “the dreaded” dehydrated skin. Dehydrated skin can happen to all skin types, it’s just how you treat it that could keep your skin looking beautiful, no matter the season.

If you’re after an all-in-one product that will help hydrate your skin while giving you a subtle tint, then the new Hydrance Optimale Hydrating Skin Tone Perfector from Eau Themale Avene is good option.

It comes in two textures; one being “Light” for normal to combination skin, and one being “Rich” for dry skin.

It combines two actives to hydrate the skin and prevent evaporation, while mineral and illuminating pearlescent pigments instantly correct skin tone. It’s also packed with an SPF 30 to keep skin protected throughout.

Price:  R199.95 for 40ml of product
Get it from: Clicks and Dis-Chem stores.

Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceremide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum

Firstly, let me say how genius these serum capsules from Elizabeth Arden are! If you travel a lot they are a god send, because you don’t have to worry about your serum spilling all over the place.

Besides the beautiful packaging, these Ceramide Daily Youth Restoring Serum Capsules provide a triple boost in anti-aging.

  1. They help to repair the skin’s barrier,
  2. They provide sublime moisturization to the skin, and
  3. They are packed with anti-aging vitamins, including Tsubaki Oil and Retinyl Palmitate to make your skin look 10 years younger.

Other key benefits of this daily dose, includes’ supporting the skin’s natural collagen for a firmer look, minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, imrpoved tone and clarity of the skin, retexturizing and revitalizing the skin and strengthening the skin’s natural moisture barrier.

Price:  R995 for 90 capsules or R825 for 60 capsules

Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant…

If you’re a long time fan of Dermalogica’s Microfoliant, then you will love their Daily Superfoliant. It’s a resurfacing, anti-pollution powder exfoliant that help target environmental triggers that contribute to skin ageing.

Sprinkle it into very wet hands to activate the skin-resurfacing alpha hydroxy acids and anti-pollution technology.

I love how it feels on the skin, both during the application and after! One tip though, a lot comes out (the dispenser is different to the Microfoliant), so be aware of it as you really don’t need more than a teaspoon per application.

Price: R1 180 for 57g of product
Get it from: Dermalogica Concept Stores, online and selected salons.

Lamelle Dermaheal Foaming Cleanser

I think this is the first time that I’ve featured local skincare brand, Lamelle on StyleScoop, and I was really excited to try out their new and improved Dermaheal Foaming Cleanser.

A few days in, and I’m already a fan! I love how it leaves my skin feeling clean without irritating it after cleansing, and a little really goes a long way!

It’s loaded with very high concentrations of powerful antioxidants that are naturally produced by the skin, and like all Lamelle’s cleansers, it doesn’t change the skin’s pH.

If you want a gel-like texture, just use a teeny tiny bit of water, but if you love the foaming effect, all you need is to combine it with more water and it foams beautifully on the skin.

Another bonus with this foaming cleanser, is that due to how effective it is at removing residue from the skin, there is no need for a toner. Other than that, it’s really well priced for such a fantastic product.

Price: R240 for 125ml of product
Get it from: Selected salons and aesthetic doctors nationwide.

Filorga Optim-Eyes Lotion Eye Makeup Remover Serum

The second new launch part of Filorga’s Optim-Eyes range, is the addition of the new Optim-Eyes Lotion Eye Makeup Remover Serum. Essentially, it’s an eye serum and waterproof eye makeup cleanser in one.

And it’s brilliant! It helps to remove all eye makeup without the use of water, quickly, easily and with no rubbing needed.

It also contains moisturization that provides up to 12 hours of hydration, an anti-fatigue peptide and an ingredient that stimulates eyelash growth.

What more could you ask for?

I’ve already used up quite a bit of this amazing product and it is, to date, my favourite eye makeup remover!

Price: R335 for 110ml of product
Get it from: Selected Edgars, Red Square and Clicks stores nationwide.

Vichy Mineral 89

New from Vichy is their Mineral 89 Fortifying and Plumping Daily Booster. It’s 1 product with 5 all round, skin benefits, including; protection against free radicals, maintenance of water inside the skin, re-plumping the skin cells, reinforcing the skin barrier and ensuring the resistance of the skin.

It’s your skin daily dose of strength, loaded with 15 minerals that are essential for good skin health.

It’s also got the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid from natural origin and contains 89% of mineralizing water to quench your skin with health.

Oh, and the best part! It can be used as part of your current skincare routine or on its own a day cream or serum.
