It’s comfortable to wear and honestly, for me the biggest bonus is that I can hug someone without worrying that I’m gong to be leaving foundation all over their clothing. Isn’t that just the worst thing ever?!

I’ve been reaching for this foundation so much lately, I almost don’t want to wear anything else. The fact that it covers beautifully (even my melasma stays hidden) and feels like you’re wearing nothing is wonderful. Whenever I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror, I’m always wowed!

With foundations, I always feel like you have to give up one for the other. If you want full coverage, you sort of have to accept the fact that your makeup is going to feel (and often look) heavy and not natural. If you want your foundation to last, you kind of accept that you’re going to have to keep touching it up throughout the day.
None of that with CHANEL ULTRA LE TEINT. It’s absolute perfection.
I apply my makeup in the morning and my skin stays flawless all day. No crumbling, no wear off, no smudging and at night when I cleanse my skin before bed, the proof that I still had makeup on is evident on my face cloth – even when I happen to wash off the day at 10pm.
Another big bonus with the launch of this foundation is that they have introduced even more shade options than previous Chanel Foundation colours. Choose between the 30 available shades for just about every skin tone.
That means that everyone can find their perfect shade whether your skin tone is pale, rosy, olive, caramel or chocolate.
As an olive skinned girl, I know how difficult it is to find a foundation that isn’t too pink or isn’t too beige. Too pink and I end up looking ashy. Too beige and I look muddy.
With the CHANEL ULTRA LE TEINT Foundation I have my perfect match in the shade BD41. I’ve usually managed to get away with previous Chanel foundation shades in B40, but that extra bit of yellow tones in BD41 in Ultra Le Teint are a match made in heaven.
Now let’s talk about the price. At R925 for 30ml this foundation ain’t cheap. But trust me when I say, it’s worth every penny.
The fact that one application works wonders means you’ll end up using less foundation. The fact that you don’t have to touch up (ever), again means you’ll use less product. The fact that it doesn’t require any primers, powders or setting sprays to work, once again means you’ll be saving. And since the coverage is so phenomenal, I even skip out concealer when I use it – so again, another saving.
As I mentioned, you don’t need to apply primer to make this foundation adhere to the skin or to make it last. But, since I am a beauty girl, and I’m lucky enough to have these types of products on hand already, I wanted to test out this foundation with my Chanel BAUME ESSENTIEL stick in “Transparent” just to see how the two would work.
Wowzers is the word. Just when I thought this foundation couldn’t get any more flawless, when I applied a my transparent BAUME ESSENTIEL on the tops of my cheekbones and sides of my forehead (before applying my CHANEL ULTRA LE TEINT foundation) my skin turned out even more radiant – and it didn’t compromise on any of the wonderful, long lasting, long wearing benefits of the foundation.
If I had to choose only two makeup products to use for the rest of my life, these two would be it. First and foremost, the CHANEL ULTRA LE TEINT foundation, since I’d use this every day and a spoil would be the Chanel BAUME ESSENTIEL stick since I can use this on its own for natural glow, under my Ultra Le Teint Foundation for extra dewy skin or over top of the foundation for that super shiny glow factor.
Do yourselves a favour ladies, try this foundation out I promise you, it will change your whole way of looking at foundation.
Application tips
My favourite way to apply this foundation is either with a standard foundation brush (I use this one or this one) or with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.
With the foundation brush, I get beautiful, all over coverage. When I apply this foundation with my Expert Face Brush, I get that almost airbrushed flawlessness which buffs out the product to perfection.
