Stylescoop is a fabulous online publication for modern South African women. The readers of SS love fashion, trends, beauty scoops and occasional gossip and they tend to be educated and computer literate (of course). I have learnt so much from other writers and thoroughly enjoy my morning fix of SS with a cup of coffee and a chocolate.

Thing is, I am not a professional writer and I don’t claim to be either. I am a wedding planner, and love arranging flowers, playing with ribbons, gawking over exquisite wedding dresses and planning, planning, planning for one of the most important days in the lives of my clients.

My writing inspirations come from events around me, usually on a Tuesday (when I should be writing an article). Therefore, all my articles are spontaneous, and rather unpredictable. I draw my inspiration from my life, from my circumstances at that particular moment in time and if I can make you smile, then I feel like my job is done well.

I have been privileged to write for StyleScoop for a year now and I appreciate the support that I have received from the online community. I love reading your comments and the emails I have received, letting me know your thoughts. I am truly blessed and courtesy of Stylescoop my life has taken a direction I never even knew existed.

Please, try to understand that it takes guts to put myself out there every week. Every week, I have doubts about whether or not I should be part of something so fabulous. Not many of you will know, but English is my second language and as much as I try to work hard at it, invariably I do make mistakes. I am also a mother of three children and I am afraid that at times (mostly due to the insane amount of attention little people require), I forget to hit that spell check option. And on some occasions that I do, I sometimes miss that fine red dotted line, so please accept my profuse apologies when you spot a mistake. I will try much harder to improve my proofreading abilities.

I am back from my break (for which I will go into greater detail in next week’s post) and am looking forward to writing articles to amuse and inspire you. And if I put a smile on your face, please let me know, I would love to see more of your comments. We live in exiting times where people across the world can share experiences – let’s take advantage of this and create a supportive community for all gorgeous women out there.

Thank you Stylescoop for the wonderful opportunities, thank you readers for your support and I have great articles planned for you in the upcoming weeks.

Take care fabulous people, until next week…

  1. Awww sweet E :)

People forget that we’re all on StyleScoop because we LOVE IT and we love sharing ideas (and shoe spotting secrets) and most of us do have day jobs! We’re not all perfect – but that’s what makes us so fabulous :) We’re real people and we do make mistakes – just like everyone else :)

Love your colum and read it religiously. As for the spelling, I’m 100% english girl and I can barely spell Feb… (won’t even trust myself here) but I make my way through life via media but have on many many occassions mispelled something that goes on TV… Whole of SA know my dyslexia! But love the post and can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us in the future!
