How cool are these new shoe boxes from Aldo?
The new box design goes to show that Aldo does care for our planet and has minimised the packaging for your brand new pair of Aldo shoes. Who said that you need a box and a plastic bag when you buy your new Aldo’s?
The brand’s goal with this new design is to reduce plastic bag consumption by 40% in 2009 and by 70% by the end of 2010. The box, or new “shopping bag” has also been made from 100% wood free paper, which supports the growth of responsible forest management around the globe.
“We did away with traditional shoebox making methods, in favour of recycled materials and eco-friendly soy-based dyes and finishes. I mean let’s face it, who needs more toxins? And for those times when you really do need a bag… Hey, we understand that sometimes your shopping spree necessitates a bag. And while our new shoeboxes are the ideal alternative, we still want you to know that bags are available (should you need one),” says Aldo Brand Manager Megan McGuiness.
