Sally Hansen – Complete Salon Manicure in Polar bear

Sally Hansen – Complete Salon Manicure in Polar bear

I absolutely love this range of nail polish from Sally Hansen. Complete Salon Manicure is like an all in one nail treatment that works as a base coat, colour and top coat all-in-one. This colour, Polar Bear is gorgeous! It’s white, yet classy, without the tippex effect.

Create mood boards with Moodboard Pro for iPad

Create mood boards with Moodboard Pro for iPad

I’m having so much fun on my iPad, it really is the most awesome thing ever! One of the apps I recently bought was the MoodBoard Pro app. I had the lite (in other words, free) version for a while and found it to be a little boring as you could only do one mood board at a time, and the number of images you could place was limited. The pro version however, is awesome! Awesomeness for under $10 and under R100! It’s prefect for organizing and saving all your favourite things and finding inspiration. You could use it for fashion mood boards (or how I have below), to create mood boards of home decor ideas. Heck, you could use it for anything! The best thing about it besides beeing fun to use, with little drawing pins and tape effects, but I love how you can clip images off websites and it saves the link within the image, so that you can refer to it later. You can create colour pallets by importing images from the web or your iPad photogallery and you can share your board with friends on email, Facebook or Twitter – how cool. Check out my…

Chanel Rouge Allure – Pure Shine Intense Lip Gloss

Chanel Rouge Allure – Pure Shine Intense Lip Gloss

If there is one thing I love, it’s lip gloss. I must have a gazillion glossies stashed everywhere from my handbags to my desk drawers, my cubby hole to my hubby’s car. Right now, I’m loving Chanel’s new Rouge Allure Pure Shine Intense Colour Long Wear Lip Gloss. I know, the name is a mouthful, but it gives your lips just as much colour. Rouge Allure is Chanel’s new generation lip gloss, stylishly packaged in this sleek and sexy black case. Inside it, the most amazing, intense lip colour – my two favourites are Imaginare (a soft, silky pink) and Gene (a gorgeous coral). The applicator has a double sided, soft tip that helps you apply colour with precision. The texture of the gloss feels great; non sticky and not greasy. In our books, this glossy ranks 10/ 10!

YSL Terre Saharienne Bronzing Powder

YSL Terre Saharienne Bronzing Powder

One of my favourite bronzers has got to be Yves Saint Laurent Terre Saharienne Bronzing Powder. Paying homage to the iconic safari look, this bronzer really helps to enhance the cheeks and face, giving them a natural, sun kissed look. Sun Radiance Pigments capture and reflect light, diffusing a golden reflection in every direction, giving you the wow factor from all angles and the added SPF 12 will keep your skin protected from the sun. The slim, skinny compact is stylish and perfect for travel or for popping into your hand bag for on-the-go touchups.

Olay Regenerist – Thermal Skin Polisher

Olay Regenerist – Thermal Skin Polisher

Want fab skin? We love Olay Regenerist Thermal Skin Polisher. It’s one of the best daily exfoliating treatments on the market. With it’s micro beads and self heating technology, it helps to gently exfoliate the skin, removing dead skin cells and leaving your skin squeaky clean and smooth. TIP: Don’t use this product to remove makeup as it’s not recommended to use on the sensitive eye area. Remove makeup using a good quality makeup remover (especially eye makeup) and use it after to cleanse your face.

TREND REPORT: Stylish Denim Accessorizing

TREND REPORT: Stylish Denim Accessorizing

Denim is just one of those items that will never go out of fashion. Every season it gets re-invented; whether it’s the wash, the style or the cut. This season, it’s all about the lightweight denim shirt – a staple item no woman should be without. In today’s Trend Report, we show you how to accessorize your denim shirt and turn it into a style statement with inspiration from D&G. For their Spring/ Summer 2010 ready to wear collection (which happens to be our 2011 summer here in sunny SA), D&G featured denim as their key piece. Styling it up with shiny, long and loose hair, leopard print accents, tan boots and aviator sunnies. This look is simple and achievable, and if you haven’t already got a denim shirt hanging in your cupboard, go out and get one! Or, steal one from your man. The over sized boyfriend shirt cinched in with a tan belt and rolled up sleeves, makes a huge style statement. Get the look! [post-slideshow] I’ve been obsessed with this look since I saw the first images from the D&G show. Check out how I matched up this look with local items.

My O Magazine Shoot – Behind the Scenes

My O Magazine Shoot – Behind the Scenes

Some of you may remember (from my obsessive tweeting) that in December last year, I was lucky enough to get flown to Cape Town to feature in a real people fashion shoot for O Magazine. I’m no shmodel, but it was great fun to experience life as a model – even if it was just for a day. The O Magazine fashion gals, Fashion Ed Robyn Cooke (styleguidecapetown.blogspot.com) and her assistant Luisa are such experts!  I mean, look at the outfits on this rack, without even meeting me, they found my style and knew what would look good on me. I was in love with the Hip Hop jacket and cargo pants, I wanted to take them home. Even the shoes, gimmie! I also got to finally meet fellow blog stars and fashionistas Allison Scotsman (AKA Lady Luxe, aka @TweetsinHeels from skinnybitchesinthemaking.blogspot.com) and Milisuthando Bongela (AKA @missmillib from missmillib.blogspot.com) who are both such amazing girls with awesome blogs. Our feature, Blog Stars is in the current issue of O Magazine (March 2011) which should be out on shelf right now. I can’t wait to see it for myself (yay me), but thought you might enjoy a little behind the scenes…

A Life In Style – Home Office Inspiration

A Life In Style – Home Office Inspiration

Im so excited! Eeeeek, I can barely contain myself – calm down, calm down, calm down. Ok, whew, I’m back… Last week my hubby and I put in an offer for our very first, free standing home – no more complex living for us – happy dance-. Well, without jumping the gun, everything seems to be signed, sealed and (almost) delivered and if all goes as plan, we’ll be making the big move soon. It’s an old home, but a homey one and one that we’ll have so much fun fixing up. He’s planning what he’s going to break down and I’m planning what I’m going to fix up, but not walls, more like buy new furniture and revamp the space! Men are from Mars, women from Venus. I’ve given myself three places to start… The Entrance Hall as it’s a focal point and needs to look inviting My “Carrie Closet” – Ill explain later, and My Office My current home office is very bright and while I do love it, I’ve had it this way for a while now and need something new. So, for my new space I’m thinking something more minimalistic, something all white with splashes of…
