L’Oreal and Revlon have both released sell-out ranges of lip butters – I bought L’Oreal Rouge Caresse in Dating Coral, and Revlon ColourBurst in Sugar Frosting. Both collections have similar cutesy names, like Cup Cake, Fashionista Pink and Cheeky Magenta.

Both products are pretty similar in that they give a pop of colour, like a lipstick, and moisturise, like a balm. Admittedly, I avoid applying lipstick free hand in fear of “going outside the lines” but lip butters are perfect for quick, full colour lip (no compact needed). They don’t have the staying power of a lipstick, but I’ve found that I’ve been using them instead of my regular balm, so not only are my lips hydrated and but have a shiny glow of colour too.

The lip butters range from cotton candy pinks to deeper reds. I found that Sugar Frosting gives the perfect hint of pink, and goes nicely with highlighted, dewy skin. Dating Coral has more peachy undertones so suits more of a bronzed look.

I checked both companies Facebook pages, and according to L’Oreal, their Rouge Caresse are already in SA stores, and Revlon’s ColourBurst will be in store from the 15th May.

Held on Saturday, the alfresco luncheon was hosted by the Kardashian sisters along with mom, Kris Jenner.

More than 50 guests were seated at tables around the pool of the Jenners’ home. The theme for the shower was “The Hamptons” and the event was organised by a professional party planner who also did the planning for Kim and Khloé’s weddings.

To celebrate the exhibition, Prada are releasing their version of their greatest hits.

The Italian fashion house have reissued a collection of their most iconic and fabulous handbags from 1991 to 2005. This limited-edition collection is available exclusively at Prada stores in New York. Miuccia Prada has gone back through her designing history and chosen some of the brand’s most popular It bags. The bags including a velvet satin flap from 1991 and 2005 floral purse have all been remade exactly to the same specs from they were first produced.

I first spotted dip dying on my hair icon, Lauren Conrad, who dip-dyed her ends in strips of pastel shades. Here in the UK, singer Jessie J has been switching up her dip-dyed hair from solid purple to solid red, a stark contrast to her natural jet black colour. Blondes seem to favour  pink and blue, both spotted on the likes of Kate Bosworth and Dakota Fanning.

The first awards ceremony was attended by only 250 industry members back in 1973 and was held at The Plaza in New York. There were only seven awards and Chanel No. 19 won for “Most Successful Introduction of a Fragrance”.

Still celebrated in New York, the awards draw the international fragrance community, big names in fashion as well as celebrities  and quite a few celebs are going head-to-head this year in the hope that they walk away with an award in their category.

Taylor Swift, Christina Aguilera, Justin Bieber, Heidi Klum and Beyoncé are all in the running for the best signature fragrance. Justin Bieber’s Someday will be competing with Beyoncé’s Pulse and Taylor Swift’s Wonderstruck for the title of top “Women’s Luxe Fragrance” of 2012. Christina Aguilera’s Royal Desire is up against Heidi Klum’s Shine in the “Women’s Broad Appeal” category. Beyoncé and Taylor will also be up against each other for “Best Packaging” for a luxe women’s brand. (‘Biebs’ also made it as a nominee in the UK FiFi Awards, along with David Beckham and Kim Kardashian.)

Beautiful, healthy natural nails can be yours!

DO

1. Visit your salon for regular manicures – not only does this benefit your natural nail health, but makes you feel pampered too!
2. Apply cuticle oil on a daily basis, this helps to keep the moisture and oil balance in the nail. It feeds the matrix (root of the nail) hence producing healthier nail cells. It also keeps the cuticles soft – preventing splits and tears. Solaroil is a great choice.
3. Always use a good quality base and top coat if you are applying nail enamel. This will prevent stains and ensure your polish stays on for longer.
4. Invest in a fabulous hand cream, preferably a moisturising cream with anti-aging properties.
5. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen to your hands as well!

DON’T:

1. Never soak dehydrated natural nails in water or have a water-based manicure! Instead, ask for a hot oil based manicure.
2. Never cut your cuticles, or allow someone to. It is okay to remove a dead tag of skin, but cutting live tissue is simply not recommended.
3. Don’t overbuff the natural nail! Buffing of the nails can be done about once a month, provided that a very fine buffer is used.
4. Never, ever rip or pull nail enhancements off, as this will be very damaging to the natural nail. If you no longer wish to have them, ask your nail professional to remove them the correct way.

Remember, nails are Jewels – not tools. Accessorize!

The runway show consisted of three key looks, all in muted  earth tones. The first was a pleated, floaty maxi with metallic detailing (a variation was also seen in full length pleated skirts). Next up was a dressy day look – a simple tee with neckline embellishment paired with white legged trousers or a simple midi skirt. And lastly there were lots of prints in the form of polka dots, florals and butterflies.

There was also a smaller collection of ice-cream sundae pieces in pinks and mint greens for fresh summer feel. I spotted this pretty chiffon maxi in a juicy peach colour.

She’s only nine months old but Harper Seven Beckham has already been offered her first modelling gig! Victoria and David Beckham’s trendy tot is wanted by My1stYears.com (a personalised baby gift company) to be the face of their brand.

The company wrote a letter to baby Harper, including the following excerpt:

“Dear Miss Beckham,

We are delighted to inform you that the UK’s leading manufacturer of personalised baby gifts, My1stYears.com, would like to invite you to become the face of our new range.

Both your parents are fashion icons, and we can see no reason why you shouldn’t start your own career in the fashion industry even at your young age.

From what we have seen of you since your first public appearance less than a year ago, we know you have implacable style and taste. You were therefore the immediate first choice for our campaign.”

They also added:

“Our range has been gaining some traction with your parents’ stylish friends. For instance, your brothers’ Godfather Sir Elton John has received some of our products and really loved them.”

The letter goes on to mention that Harper would be paid very well to be the face of the brand but, due to child labour laws, the company would negotiate the contract details with her parents, should they be interested.

Talk about having well-connected parents opening doors for you! We’ll have to wait and see if she follows in her mom’s fashionable footsteps albeit not in heels.

In a real-life scenario, I’d hope my girlfriends would be able to smack some sense into me and tell me not to engage in affairs. In a fashion sense, I have Zac Posen. The American designer has answered my prayers for a knight in shining stylish armour and helped a fashionista-in-need out. He, like those with smaller bank accounts, agrees that great fashion should be accessible for everyone. He created a more affordable line in collaboration with Lord & Taylor called Z Spoke by Zac Posen back in 2010 and it’s still going strong.

This collection is aimed at the everyday woman on the street; the one with curves, who follows but doesn’t bow down to trends and is socially savvy. The designer’s signature style can still be seen throughout the Fall 2012 collection. There’s an air of femme fatale about the collection but ideally it’s the modern’s woman’s sensual daywear. Think nipped-in waists, tweed  jackets and high-waisted skirts.

Actress Emma Watson sported a tiger-print playsuit, with animal-inspired accessories, and model Dree Hemingway wore a chilli-print Dolce & Gabbanna bustier top with a matching full skirt. My favourite festival look goes to Kate Bosworth who looked effortless cool in a Mulberry tiger-tee, black shorts and high tops.
