Hi There

Make A Wish And Grow Your Lashes

Make A Wish And Grow Your Lashes

Who doesn’t want super long, full flutter lashes? The only people I’ve ever heard complaining about their eyelashes being too long are men, which makes me wonder, was there a mix up in the making of Adam and Eve? If you’re blessed with long, full lashes, I really envy you! If you’re more like me with barely there lashes, don’t worry because help is at hand! More and more beauty companies are out there researching solutions to help our lashes grow. One product, I’ve tried, tested and love is Rapid Lash. It’s quite an expensive product, but it really works. You’ve just got to be consistent with it, and in a few weeks you will notice the difference! Revlon also has an interesting mascara called Grow Luscious. I’ve only just started using it, so haven’t seen the lash growing results yet, but apart from its “lash enhancing” ingredients that work over time to assist the natural growth of your lashes, it’s a pretty good mascara. I do like the supersized brush and after three coats my lashes look long and lovely! It would be an awesome bonus if this mascara could actually make my lashes grow at the same time. For some reason, lately I’ve…

Review: Filorga Lip-Structure

Review: Filorga Lip-Structure

Filorga recently launched their new rock-star product, LIP-STRUCTURE and we got to test it out. Filogra, which is a French brand renowned for it’s medical and injectable expertise has created the first, complete anti-aging treatment for both the lips and the perioral (mouth) area. LIP-STRUCTURE is a dual serum that targets the various aging aspects of the lip and mouth. The white end of the product is a Lip Densifyer that contains a blend of emollients, combined with palm and rapeseed oil and sorbitol. It stimulates the collagen in the cells of the lips to enable healing and restorative action. The black end of the product is for use on the Peri-Oral-Zone (the mouth area) and contains Matrixyl Synthe 6, which is a powerful peptide that boosts the synthesis of six structural components of the skin that surrounds the lips, that restructures the skin and smoothes out fine lines and wrinkles. To use this product, first make sure your lips and mouth area are clean and makeup free. Start on the black end and using the applicator, apply the product around the mouth avoiding the lips. Then use the white end of the product on your lips, like you would lip gloss. You can apply the black zone over your day cream.…

Confessions of a Beauty Girl – Eloise Dreyer

Confessions of a Beauty Girl – Eloise Dreyer

Today’s beauty confession comes from celebrity makeup artist and blogger, @eloisemakeup – Eloise Dreyer. How did you get started in the beauty industry? It never started at a certain point for me. It’s always been there. It’s as natural as breathing to me. It manifested though when my mother taught me to always look after my skin no matter what and that I should feel pretty for myself, no one else. What’s the best thing about your job? I get to learn about the most amazing advances in skin care technology, sample fragrances, play with colour when it comes to cosmetics, see the radiant faces of my models and clients after I’ve worked on them and make friends with like-minded people. My creativity is never curbed, frowned upon or laughed at. I love being creative and sharing it. What’s the most common questions girls ask you when they find out what you do? “How I got into the industry?” “How I get to be so sought after by clients and brands?” “How to do certain applications in makeup?” “What my beauty closet looks like?” – Eloise, we’d love to see that closet! What was the last beauty item you purchased?…

Confessions of a Beauty Girl – Kim Gray

Confessions of a Beauty Girl – Kim Gray

Today’s beauty confession is from @KimGray, one of my oldest blogging buddies… How did you first get started in the beauty industry? Being a stylist in the fashion industry, I noticed that girls always gravitate to the make up artist make-up box, and quickly realized that girls love to to know what the latest and greatest products are and other peoples opinions on them. And so I added beauty reviews to my blog, along side the fashion and design content. What’s the best thing about your job? Testing out all the beauty products of course! I also like to give back – so after trying and testing and when the beauty cupboard is full, I donate all the beauty goodies to Code Teen where the beauty products are distributed among raped and abused and usually underprivileged girls. I love that I can do that! What’s the most common questions girls ask you when they find out what you do? “How do I get into the industry?” What was the last beauty item you purchased? Deodorant and cotton wool. I am very privileged to be sponsored by QMS Medicosmetics, so regular facials and their fabulous skincare products keep me in check. What are your top beauty…

Today’s beauty confession is from the fun, witty and highly entertaining beauty blogger Leigh van den Berg, otherwise known as @lipglossgirl. How did you first get started in the beauty industry? What’s the most common questions girls ask you when they find out what you do? How do I do what you do?’ (Start a blog and promote the hellin’ out of it. If your writing is good and your content is interesting, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t do well). What was your last thing you purchased? La Mer – The Concentrate

La Mer – The Concentrate

Compliment great skin with La Mer The Concentrate. This product helps your skin’s natural healing process and is ideal to reduce the appearance of scars and generally help fragile skin renew. It was inspired by La Mer founder Dr. Max Huber on his quest to diminish the appearance of his own scars, following a laboratory accident. So you know that La Mer works! Going into summer, La Mer The Concentrate is perfect to help combat any dryness caused by our harsh winter climates. It is also designed to improve your skin’s tone and texture as well as reduce redness and irritation. On the skin, this serum-like product feels luxuriously fabulous. I love using it as a primer before makeup application as well, your foundation looks flawless and melts into the skin. Complimenting the existing 50ml product, next month sees the launch of the 30ml version. The 50ml Concentrate costs R4 200, while the 30ml version will be available for R2 500. Giving you a chance to try out the product without spending so much on the full version. Usage To complement skin’s natural healing process and improve the appearance of scars, apply and thoroughly massage The Concentrate into the skin at least…
