Beauty How To – GUESS Accessories Campaign

Beauty How To – GUESS Accessories Campaign

I am head-over-heels in love with the latest Guess Accessories campaign! The makeup is to-die-for and I can’t wait to try this look out, so I asked two of my favourite Durban based makeup artists, Candice Mac Nicol (@cands_mac) and Lisa Bailey (@LisaBaileyPout)  to give me their tips, tricks and product recommendations on how to get this glam old-Hollywood look! ON THE FACE Candice’s Tips Allow your natural skin and glow to shine through! The foundation is light and well-matched to the skin tone, allowing a natural glow. Using a wet cosmetic sponge, wet Beauty Blender or wet Stippling brush, apply a light to medium coverage liquid foundation on the face. Great products to use include MAC Face & Body or Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. Apply concealer only where needed (under eyes, around base of nose, any red areas). This type of look requires a natural skin tone and the final look shouldn’t be too heavy or matte. Great products to use include Bobbi Brown concealer, Clinique eye concealer or Smashbox HD concealer. A tribute to Elizabeth Taylor – Modern Day Cleopatra Eyes

A tribute to Elizabeth Taylor – Modern Day Cleopatra Eyes

Yesterday was a truly sad day for the world! One of the greatest, most iconic beauties in the business, Elizabeth Taylor passed away. We will always love this icon and today, we pay tribute to one of the most glamorous women of our time. We’ll show you, step by step, how to create modern day Cleopatra Eyes, a perfect way for you to remember the great Elizabeth Taylor and keep her look alive. Step 1 Using a light coloured eye shadow (we love Bobbi Brown Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow in Bone) cover the entire eyelid, from the lash line, all the way up to your brow bone. TIP: apply using the MAC 217 Blending Brush Step 2 Add colour to the outer corners of your lids with something striking and sexy. We love Estee Lauder Double Wear Cream Shadow in Antique Gold. Pat the colour on using your fingertips, focusing on applying most of the colour to the outer corners and blend inwards. For more intense colour, build it up in layers until you have your desired result. TIP: apply using your fingertips for best results Step 3 Add definition to your lids using a shade that has gorgeous shimmer…

Autumn Skin 101: Makeup trend forecast

Autumn Skin 101: Makeup trend forecast

Thanks to the lovely Eloise Dreyer, celebrity beauty artist and blogger for sharing her autumn makeup trends with us today… This autumn we have a strong palette to look forward to. I’m a lover or strong lips and eyes, and here’s what you can do to be spot on when it comes to Autumn trends. Strong brows are making a huge comeback. Dont over colour brows and draw stark lines, rather use a soft brow pencil like Bobbi Brown Brow Pencils, to create a strong and groomed look. Colours for eyes include washes of greys, browns and purples. My favourite grey palette is found at Dior in their “Gris” collection. Purples pop in pallets from MAC Wonderwoman, Estee Lauder Surreal Violet and YSL in Parisian Sky. Use an aubergine/grey/navy color eye pencil to finish off strong eyes. Keep lips either very nude or very strong For nude, try MAC lipstick in Myth. For strong, go for Java Jolt; a dark chocolate, or even a dark grape will be perfect. Skin is flawless, slightly on the dewy, translucent side. I use Chanel Vita Lumiere Aqua and YSL Transfer Resistant foundation to create the best skin. Colour mascaras are making a huge…
