The sun is shining, so it’s time to pack away those heavy foundations. I know you want to look good no matter what the season, so I’ve picked and reviewed my top five summer foundations of the moment (in order) and here they are! Tried, Tested and Loved – of course! 1. BOBBI BROWN TINTED MOISTURIZER COMBINED WITH BOBBI BROWN FOUNDATION STICK As a combo, Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer and Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick is my favourite summer foundation of the moment. On its own, the Tinted Moisturizer offers a nice even tone and gives the skin a nice healthy glow, but the magic happens when you apply the Foundation Stick lightly over it, and only where you need it. This combo is great for both day and night as you can custom build your coverage to suit your look. My Colour: Medium Tint Moisturizer and 4.5 Foundation Stick Read More: Find out what else I had to say about these two Bobbi Brown Foundations 2. CHANEL VITALUMIÈRE AQUA As a single product on its own, Chanel VITALUMIÈRE Aqua is the ultimate summer skin. You’ll see in the shots below, where I’ve sampled it on my arm, its texture is…

There is something very sexy, very alluring yet sensationally dark and dangerous about black nail polish. Some love it, others hate it! But if you’re going to wear black nail polish, you absolutely have to try Chanel Le Vernis in Black Satin. It will bring out your dark side in a deliciously decadent kind of way. It’s the sleek, sexy and sophisticated type of black that goes on without the clump. No wonder it’s loved by so many stars including Micha Barton, Rachel Zoe and Victoria Beckham. Pump up its shine with an overlay of Chanel Extreme Shine Nail Laquer which will take your black nails to a whole new level of glam. I love using this as a top coat, even with other colours to take the shine up a few notches. I must admit though, while I love black nail polish and especially this one, black on nails can often look tacky, especially when you paint all over your cuticles. A little practice is all you need to perfect your DIY manicure, and this video is a great resource with tips to help you be a nail painting pro.

For the past week I’ve been trying out a new foundation from Chanel that makes the perfect summer face. I’ts my first touch of Chanel foundation and if this one is anything to go by then, I’m sure I’ll love the whole range. This one, Chanel VITALUMIÈRE AQUA is dubbed the “new-generation” texture. On first application the formula is quite watery, but you’ve got to shake it up, combining the water and oil to develop into the correct texture that is Vitalumiere Aqua. I applied it with my fingertips (not my brush as I usually do) and perfecto! It blends like a dream. Here’s how the foundation looks after shaking it up and just swiping it on my hand. Same light, here I’ve blended it using my fingertips only and it’s a perfect match. My colour is B40 – Beige Desert. The formula is soft and very sensual with a luxurious delicate smell that really does feel like second skin. I got a lot of compliments wearing this foundation, people telling me how radiant and glowing my skin looked. It lasts about 8-10 hours and would probably last longer if I didn’t have a bad habit of constantly touching my…

We asked the gorgeous Cape Town based professional makeup artist, slash model, slash stylist and of course beauty blogger, Samantha Laura Kaye to tell us what’s on her Summer Lust List this year. Check it out… 1) Chanel Mat Lumiere Powder Compact My favourite find of 2010 this feather-light and oil free foundation which is powder based and delivers a flawless radiant finish. It absorbs oil and sweat on the hottest of summer days and contains light reflecting pigments which minimize flaws and fine lines, making skin appear healthy and flawless without being overly powdery. The compact makes for extremely convenient and stylish touch-ups and the coverage is build-able allowing for extra cover in the areas you need it most. It contains an SPF 10 (not enough, but any SPF is rare for a powder compact) and feels luxurious and velvety on the skin unlike other powder compacts which can leave the skin feeling dry and chalky. 2) An Aubade Bikini I fell in love with Aubade lingerie earlier this year and discovered their bikinis shortly afterwards. Whilst nothing beats nude tanning (nobody likes tan lines) every lady needs a bikini that looks amazing on her. Aubade is a french…

She’s not only gorgeous and sassy, but we love her style too – You should see some of her shoes OMG! Today, we take a look at Marie Claire’s Beauty Editor, Zanele Kumalo’s Summer Lust List. 1. My ipad “It’s so slim, portable and stylish, and I can pack my music and summer reads in one device and skype friends and family I won’t see from around the world. Plus catch up on any movies or magazines I’ve downloaded but haven’t had a chance to watch and shop online.” 2. A hydrating moisturiser with a built-in spf “Good skincare and great skin is non-negotiable – I like a light cream that doesn’t make my skin feel greasy, that also protects it from the sun. The more things one product can do effectively, the better. Loving the new ones from Shiseido and Estee Lauder” Editors Note: In our visual, we featured Estee Lauder Hydrationist 3. Colour Colour makes me happy, so if it’s not draped on my body, it’ll probably be on my toes. Love all the aqua and lavender shades from Essie and Chanel Editors Note: In our visual, we featured the “coming soon” Chanel Le Vernis Riva shade Follow…

Like most girls, I’m obsessed with nail polish. A quick mani or pedi with a fresh new colour on your fingers or toes can really transform your mood. If you don’t have a lot of money, or time to buy a new dress or pair of shoes, then painting your nails is the next best thing. Actually, I think it might be better in some instances – like for example, when you get to paint them with a luxurious, gorgeous coat of Chanel nail polish. For the next few days, I’ll be channeling a new personality by painting my nails in different colours from the lust worthy and totally yummy Chanel Le Vernis collection! Before I begin, I need to mention that I’m a Chanel virgin – or at least I was a few weeks ago. Now, I’m a fond follower and a believer (can you also hear the Shrek song in your head?). What makes Chanel nail polish so special, besides it being Chanel (hello!) is that the colour is, in one word, magnificent! A lot of nail polishes need two to three (sometimes even more) coats to make the colour as intense as the bottle. Well, not Chanel.…

I know, I know, we’re still in October, which may be too soon to be talking about Christmas, but it’s never too early to talk about makeup. Feast your eyes on Chanel’s Christmas 2010 collection – a gorgeous, heart-stoppingly beautiful limited edition range, that hits counters in the second week of November. Hot pink nails, glossy lips and fuchsia-infused cheeks with sprinkles of gold in a tweed design. A quad of four indulgent eye shadows (two dark and two light) is the shining star of this collection. For the lips its a choice of Patchouli – a light copper or Magnoilia a soft and feminine pink. I love the Pulsion Le Vernis Nail Colour from this collection. It’s the hottest pink without being too bright, so you can wear it feeling like a stylish, sophisticated woman and not a colour-crazed teen – although there is nothing wrong with that either! I think we might even make it StyleScoop’s official nail colour – What do you think? 🙂 Keep an eye out for this collection and get it before it’s too late! The limited edition collection is expected to sell out before the end of Jan next year so don’t say…
