Believe in Your Selfie {ootd}

Believe in Your Selfie {ootd}

I’m not a huge Pizza fan, but this weekend I was converted when the hubz and I headed out to Braamfontien (again – man I love that place) and discovered the best pizza in town! 86 Public is a seriously cool pizza joint in the heart of Jozi! With a pizza selection and cocktails worthy of praise, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a Saturday in the city! And, they even have a live DJ adding to their cool and hip vibe. With such striking surroundings, and a happy belly, who could resist doing a little OOTD… I picked up this cute graphic tee at Edgars the other day, and I had to have it! I mean, who doesn’t believe in the Selfie? And since we were planning on walking the streets of Jozi, I thought I’d break out my new panama hat. If you ever find yourself in Jozi, make sure you stop past 86 Public for a pizza and cocktails! I highly recommend the Bacon, Fig, Leek and Feta Pizza (doesn’t that sound amazing?) and their Chocolate, Marscapone, Pineapple, Pear, Banana and Strawberry Pizza, was deee-lish! Pizza and Chocolate – who would have thought?! Oh, and their Gin…

Get Lucky!

Get Lucky!

I can never resist a great deal, especially one that benefits my back pocket (literally, butt included) and gives back! Yeah baby, the Lucky Brand Denim Donation is back! It’s a great opportunity to get rid of your old jeans, get yourself into a pair of Lucky Brand Denims, and give a little love to the SOS Children’s Villages in South Africa. All you need to do is take your old, loved jeans (any brand, any style, any colour) into any one of the local Lucky Brand flagship stores or participating Edgars stores that stock Lucky Brand. Then, pick out your favourite Lucky Brand jeans and get 50% off your new babies! But you need to do it now, or before the 30th September 2014! Don’t say I didn’t give you enough time 🙂 Your old jeans get donated to the SOS Children’s Villages to assist a project they run in PE. Women in this community take your repurposed denims and are able to sell them for profit, which enables them to support themselves. They also use the fabric to come up with creative things to sell; like denim dolls and denim placemats. Isn’t that great? Raid your closet and get rid of all those old, ill fitting, just plain boring jeans! Then drop them off…

One Green Elephant

One Green Elephant

I love discovering new and exciting brands! One that really caught my eye is the Japanese European designed brand, One Green Elephant. This range is all attitude and will definitely liven up your street style. It’s available in South Africa, thanks to Edgars, who do love spoiling us with international brand variety! I’m particularly obsessed with their unique and technical denim washes. How fab is that acid green wash in the KOSAI light blue jeans (bottom left in the top pic) and the punk pink wash of the IMIZU jeans (bottom left in the below pic)! Also kinda loving the pink stitching of that denim jacket! Think I need to add it to my wardrobe! One Green Elephant’s latest, Spring/ Summer 2014 collection is intriguing and refreshing, and as always, the brand draws inspiration from the vibes and creativity from the biggest and fastest moving cities around the world. Here’s a little peek into some hot must-have items you need!!! Nomad {outfit post}

Nomad {outfit post}

What do you guys think of the whole nomadic style? I’m kinda digging it. It has such a free spirited boho feel that makes me want to embrace it. When I saw this, “Coatigan” the other day at Edgars, I immediately fell in love with it. It reminds me of a real hippie/ surfer girl style (even though I’m no longer a Durban girl, and besides I never surfed – although I did try a few times and was just no good) But anyway! I loved it! The hoodie and fringe detail really appealed to me, as did the intricate knit. I thought it would make a great addition to my wardrobe, since I could wear it in winter, but ultimately, my thoughts when buying it, was with the idea of wearing it in the Spring. Think denim cut off shorts, a little white tee and brown combat boots! But Spring feels like a million miles away, I thought I’d try out a different style for winter this weekend… Excluding the shoes and sunnies, I found all the pieces for this outfit at Edgars. I really enjoy shopping there these days – their selection is so fab. They carry great in-house pieces (like my coatigan) as well as a…

Salsa Jeans – Find your Perfect Fit

Salsa Jeans – Find your Perfect Fit

Imagine a perfect pair of jeans. A pair that’s customized to fit your shape? A pair of jeans that can nip, tuck, pull, shape, enhance or tone down your assets? Well ladies, that perfect pair is here! Portuguese denim brand Salsa Jeans recently landed in South Africa, and you can find your perfect fit at selected Edgars stores around the country. I attended the press launch for this fabulously sexy denim brand, and since I am a jean junkie of note, I’ve given them my StyleScoop stamp of approval. It’s not easy to find jeans that are made for you! But thankfully with Salsa chances are that you will find your perfect pair! These jeans are made by the sultry Portuguese, who are known to have as certain element of pizzazz. We were told that the jeans are all finished in Europe by “Hot Portuguese Men”, sweating it out to create sexy jeans just for us ladies (but there are styles for guys too!). That alone makes these jeans HOT, but once you try them on, you’ll understand the real fire beneath this brand. At the launch we were invited to try out the jeans and find our perfect fit. I had a lot of fun trying out the different styles. Even…

The “Wear With Anything” Little Denim Vest

The “Wear With Anything” Little Denim Vest

So obsessed with denim shirts/ jackets, and as we head into summer, definitely loving my little denim vest or deinim gilet! I bought the most gorgeous little denim vest from Bershka while I was in Greece, and have been finding so many different ways to wear it. I tell you, it’s the ultimate closet must-have to snazzy up any outfit. I wore it non stop on holiday and it was great for a night out when I wanted to look “smarter” but not be too smart. I was after-all, on holiday! There are a ton of ways to wear it! My fave is to pair it with a girly dress. I am a girly-girl, but I also like dressing with a bit of an edge, so adding this little number to an otherwise plain dress, really makes it more my style! I also love wearing it with an all black ensemble and killer heels. And of course, finishing it with loads of ring bling and arm candy! Another way I could rock it is with my H&M weaved skirt, that I also can’t wait to wear this summer! I tried out this outfit with a different Gilet (since it was a bit longer), but both could work just…

The Tribe Has Spoken! New IN, H&M Woven Skirt

The Tribe Has Spoken! New IN, H&M Woven Skirt

For once in my life, I saw something worn by one of the blogs I follow, and could actually drive to H&M (coz you know, I was in Greece) and get it! I was so amped! Now all that’s left, is to lose the 3 (blooming, bladdy, friggin) kilos I gained eating Gyro’s in Greece and I then I can rock my new baby! My Inspiration

How to Hang Your Jeans

How to Hang Your Jeans

Finding your jeans in your closet can be quite frustrating! I used to store mine, folded on top of one another on a shelf, and I could never find which pair I was looking for! In fact, I hardly knew what jeans I had! After re-arranging my Closet Room (here’s what it looked like before – I still need to do that post on the updated layout by the way), I managed to squeeze in a bit more hanging space, so I decided to dedicate a rail (well half a rail) to storing my jeans. I now hang all my jeans in a way that I can see them properly! Not only the colour, but the cut, style, and most importantly for me, the leg. I am a jeans person, so I love my skinnies, bootlegs and boyfriend jeans. Hanging and displaying them like this has made a huge difference in helping me find “just the right pair”. I have three basic hanging methods, all using wooden hangers. I mostly hang my jeans by slipping the back belt loops onto the sides of the hanger. This works for most of my Demi-Curve Levi’s jeans becuase they are low waisted and have enough “room”…

I want, I need…

I want, I need…

This gorgeous, beautiful, trendy and oh-so heavenly Fred Tsuya, green denim jacket! Isn’t it amazing?! I am in love with the biker style, the sexy stitching and all the zips! And those studded shoulders are driving me cray-zee! I love it from every angle! It’s structured and edgy and the distressed look is so on-trend right now!!! I’d definitely pair it with a pair of hot military/ combat boots like my Caterpillar ones I bought recently. If you’ve got R2000 lying around (I don’t as Im saving for my trip to Europe in July (YAY)) then this baby can be yours! Order it online from Zando. Remember they offer free delivery in SA for orders over R250, as well as free returns for 14 days! xx Dimi

There are people that love their jeans – sometimes a little too much if you ask me. You know who I’m talking about right? Those die-hard denim heads that wear their jeans to gym! I mean come on, jeans to exercise?
