In the past month or two I’ve been for two facials, and both times the therapists pointed out that my skin was a little dry. To be honest, I did’nt notice it too much, but after using OptiPhi‘s new Moisture Control Ultra Rich Repairing Moisturiser for over a week, I can definitely see a huge difference. On a recent trip to Mr Price, on the hunt for a gorgeous skirt I saw at Glam Camp, I was impressed not only at how much cool stuff they had, but how much cool stuff I bought! I’ve been looking for a leopard print scarf for the longest time! All the ones I’ve seen haven’t had an “authentic” print, so when I came across this baby, I snapped it up straight away! It’s a long scarf in a soft, sheer fabric, that you can fold double to create a snood. Perfect for the transition into Autumn! I also found this pack of tassel bangles! Most of you know my obsession with Arm candy and while I love stacking bangles, these elastic ones are much easier to wear. They have the cutest little beads and tassels and I love the mix of autumny colours. It was an absolute bargain buy at R39.99. I bought this skirt without a second thought. This weekend was fun, fun, fun! I was lucky to get a VIP invite to the event of the year… The Brutal Fruit Glam Camp! For the past couple of months everyone has been talking about it, tweeting about it and hoping to get entrance to this two day, by-invitation-only event. Think five star glamping, five star food, rubbing shoulders with celebs, drinking loads of Brutal Fruit and attending workshops to help you get your glam on! It’s every fashionista’s dream day out in Africa! I was one of the first Glampers to arrive. In fact, I think I was the very first; flying in to Lanseria at 9am and only checking into the camp at 4pm. While I wasn’t allowed into the camp site until it officially opened, I got to sit with the camp organisers and get a real behind the scenes look at the amount of work that went into this event. As you can tell by my title, I am absolutely LOVING Shellac! I was hooked after day one, but now that I’ve experienced the full benefit of Shellac, I’m even more convinced that this simply is the best nail system ever! If you haven’t heard about Shellac or don’t know what it is, then you should read my first blog post on it, then come back to this post as the “after” as it’s more of a follow up. How long it lasts Nail polish usually lasts 2 days, maximum 3 on my nails, but I managed 14 days of wear on my Shellac. In image 3 you can see how my Shellac looked after four days – still looks perfect! As I’ve mentioned before I’m seriously hard on my nails, banging away on my keyboard all day, opening parcels etc. I did manage to chip my thumb (image 1) around day 4 or 5, and while I could have had it fixed, I wanted to give you guys a proper review, so I left it. This post is long overdue! I’ve been promising it for weeks on Twitter, and this weekend I finally had time to shoot some pics, so here goes. I hope you enjoy it and that it gives you some cool ideas to store your own makeup! Alrighty, so above is my vanity setup. You’ll probably recognise it from my closet room post, which by the way still needs to be updated! I’ve made a few changes in the layout of my makeup, and I’ve also finished my dresser off nicely with a mirror top. Before I just had the wired shelf top and everything would just fall through – it was a mission! I’ve always wanted a mirror dressing table, and now I finally have it. I can’t believe how cheap it was either! I think I paid R150 for the mirror top, which in case you’re wondering is sitting on a super thin piece of chipboard (so it doesn’t break). I also had smaller ones cut to fit into the side shelves. I am a typical Greek, which means black is kinda like my uniform. It’s only recently that I started going a bit crazy for colour – loving the colour blocking trend! My fave is to mix bold, bright, contrasting colours together. From shoes to tops to technicolour jeans, I love them all!
