L’Oréal have really upped their game with their L’Or Lumiere Collection. I mean, L’Oréal are on top of the game with all their makeup collections, but this one is definitely my favourite so far! Lights, luminance, sparkle and texture. What more could a girl ask for? So let me start with the star of the collection… Lumi Magique Pearl Powder When I first laid eyes on this beaut, I was in awe! I mean, just look how gorgeous it is! For a product that retails under R200 bucks, it certainly looks extremely luxe and really expensive! It’s a gorgeous iridescent powder and the next best thing next to my fave highlighting powder of all time, Poudre Signee De Chanel Illuminating Powder. Lumi Magique Pearl Powder has great dimension that looks natural on the skin, giving your cheeks a subtle glow that’s gorgeous but not too overdone – just the way I like it. I love the pop of rose shimmer in this powder that highlights the cheeks even further. It is available in two shades, Rose Boudoir and Rose Radieux and this my friends, is a limited edition, so you’ll need to get your hands on it and quick! Colour Riche Mono Eye Shadow Lately I’ve been using…

These colours can be used alone or combined in different ways to create a multitude of unique looks. But let’s stick to four main looks today; a natural look, an intense look, an almond-shaped look and of course, a smoky look. How to use your Chanel Les 4 Ombres Palette Each palette contains four shades. This little guide will help you identify which shade goes where on the lid. Each one of the four looks below is complimented with Chanel’s Le Volume Mascara in black as well as Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof mascara, also in black. These guides can be used on any of the palettes in the Chanel Les 4 Ombres collection, so have fun and start creating luscious looks… One Palette, 4 Looks For a natural look using Chanel Les 4 Ombres palette, follow these steps: Sweep shade A over the entire lid Apply shade B to…

Have you heard the latest Scandal?  Rimmel’s new Scandaleyes Eye Shadow sticks are out and they are here to give your eye lids outrageous colour in a flash! These new, high impact jumbo sticks promise easy, crease free colour that lasts for up to 24 hours, and they come in 7 fab colours. I got to sample four of the seven colours, including Witness White, Gossip Green, Guilty Grey and Bulletproof Beige. I really like the colours, texture and long lasting (it really is) staying power of these sticks. They are perfect for your holiday bag, especially if you’re going away and don’t want to carry your entire makeup collection, but still want the option of having various shadow colours on hand. The only downside of these pencils, is that since they are actual pencils in need of sharpening, with soft tips, they do tend to “break” off quite easily. So instead of keeping them sharp, I prefer to use them a little blunter if you know what I mean. The consistency is almost like that of a cream eye shadow, but it adheres to the skin more like an eyeliner than an eyeshadow. I was really impressed with how well they lasted. I tested out the…

Here’s a quick beauty byte on some of the amazing new makeup goodies I’ve been playing with recently. Tried, Tested and LOVED (as always)! Woolworths Makeup Wink, Wink, Blush, Blush! Woolies have launched an exciting new range of makeup that’s bang on trend and budget friendly! Some of the goodies I got to try: WINK Eyeshadow trio (R49.95) and BLUSH lip & cheek tint (R49.95). The eyeshadow I got to play with, Khol Maybe is absolutely stunning. I’m in love with the burgundy shade on the right and the khaki green on the left is also gorgeous. A great combo for winter! These WINK shadows are highly pigmented and great for adding metallic colour to your lids. In general I don’t like using the applicators that come with compacts, and prefer to use my MAC 217 blending brush to create a blended shade and my MAC 239 brush to pack on the colour.  You can even amp up the intensity of these shadows by dipping your 239 brush in a drop of water before packing on the colour. This will make your eyes pop! The BLUSH lip and cheek tint is a lovely cream blush that diffuses effortlessly on the cheeks and adds a perfect pop of colour to your lips.…

I have some very exciting news to share with you guys today… As you know INGLOT is one of my personal favourite makeup brands for eye shadows! Not only do they have a gazillion colours to choose from in their freedom system, but they are super pigmented and long lasting. Better yet, they are affordable at only R79 for over 2 grams of shadow! The only problem with INGLOT (if you want to call it that) and I’m sure many of you will agree, is that there are so many colours, it’s often difficult to choose a single shade. I’ve often found myself going in there to buy a brown and been so overwhelmed by the different brown choices, that I end up not buying anything! So, I thought I’d make it easier for you guys. I’ve put together a palette of colours that I think will work on just about anyone, and named it the STYLESCOOP PURE PALETTE by INGLOT! If you like this colour palette you can go into any INGLOT standalone store and ask for it by name, so there is no need to write down the different codes for each colour. This gorgeous 5-pan palette is my absolute fave at the moment and…

This past week I’ve gone bonkers for blue. The last two days, I’ve been playing with blue nail colour in navy and oceanic shades, and today’ I’m featuring blue palettes for the eyes! The palette Feeling blue yet? Top on my list is Estee Lauder’s Double Wear Stay in Place Shadow Cream in “Blue Velvet”. The colour contrasts gorgeously with my hazel/ green eyes and because it’s a cream shadow you can expect it to last all day – and it does! I’ve recently discovered Clarins mascara and their Wonder Perfect Mascara in blue is magnificent. I even use it with other eye shadow colours and it gives my lashes great definition. Pair this with the shadow above and pencil below and you’re set! For an all blue effect, the Artist’s Eye Pencil from Estee Lauder in Blue Iris is a must! It needs only a light stroke for intense navy blue colour. So you don’t have to worry about pressing too hard on your lids. The smudge brush on the other end is also cool for blending quickly and easily. For a slightly different, wilder shade of blue I kind-a-like this colour from Rimmel Glam Eyes called “Posh Peacock”.…
