Layered Necklaces

Layered Necklaces

A lot of you girls have been asking me about the necklaces that I’m wearing in my profile pic (the same one I wore on this post and on instagram yesterday). Aren’t they just beautiful? Both are from Georgini, an Australian jewellery brand (that’s available from various retailers in South Africa – as well as via their local online store) and they have some truly beautiful pieces; some bold, some dainty, some intricate and some brightly coloured as well. I’ve slowly been trying to build my jewellery collection into something that I love. Bit by bit, I’m adding quality necklaces, rings and especially earrings, because I feel that I’m at a point in my life where it matters to have something that’s high quality, rather than something that’s flashy and fashionable. The thing I love about my new Georgini necklaces, is that they are both fashionable, but made out of quality materials (these are both 925 Sterling Silver) – which means these special pieces will last a lifetime. I’ve always been a golden girl (no, not like the old lady actresses – although Blanche will always be my fave), but in terms of jewellery. I’ve always gravitated towards gold. But then, I love silver too. As much as I also love the gold…

Thomas Sabo

Thomas Sabo

I’ve always known Thomas Sabo jewellery to be all about collecting beautiful charms for bracelets, but I never realised just how many different styles of jewellery make up this German founded brand. I’ve partnered with Thomas Sabo to showcase some of my favourite pieces from their latest collections, plus the pieces I just could not resist. Be sure to stick around, as I’ve got a give away coming up soon… the prize however, will remain a secret until the giveaway goes live. But trust me, you won’t want to miss out!

Lockets of Love

Lockets of Love

Jewellery is no longer something you wear to feel fashionable, but rather something that makes you feel special and unique – at least, that rings true for me. I love pieces that allow me to express my personality. I love collecting special tokens that remind me of treasured memories, or wearing symbols that are close to my heart. That’s why I’m so excited to share this beautiful Anais Paris piece with you gals today. If you’ve always loved the idea of a locket, but aren’t too fond of the vintage photograph type, then you will love this modern take. A locket that speaks to the twenty- first century romantic.

X by Trollbeads. Link with Love!

X by Trollbeads. Link with Love!

When I was a kid I had a charm bracelet. Every year, my parents would add to it, so that eventually when I grew up, I’d have quite a collection of charms and a chunky bracelet. The funny thing is, that now that I’m older, I can’t remember the last time I wore my charm bracelet. It’s been sitting in the safe for ages, and either I’m too scared to wear it (in the fear of losing one of my charms) or maybe it’s just not “my style” anymore. Either way, I don’t wear it. This is strange, since you probably already know that I’m a total arm candy addict! And I really like unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that stand out and look stylish. So imagine my excitement when the lovely peeps over at Trollbeads sent me their gorgeous new X By Trollbeads piece. And to top it off, they customized the links just for me! X By Trollbeads is a rubber link braclet that you can customize with unique bronze, silver and gold links and personalize it as you please. I like to think of it as a more modern and funkier version of a charm bracelet and one that has more style and attitude! They sent…

Fab Find Friday – Earring Stands

Fab Find Friday – Earring Stands

So you guys know my obsession with organising and storing my stuff! Always on the hunt for new and clever ways to organise, I found these amazing little earring stands that are a must for every gal! How do you guys store your earrings? I must say, mine were a total mess! I had them all over the place, constantly buying more because I could never find them, forgotten about them, or lost the butterflies – how annoying! That was until I discovered these… Handy little earring stands that I picked up at Dischem for under R50 bucks! I love these because you can store your hanging earrings as well as your studs, and you’re able to see everything nice and neatly. The other benefit is that your earrings don’t get damaged, tangled or go missing. Studs go at the top, and you can store a variety of sizes. There’s actually a lot of space, so depending on the size of your studs, you can store them up here. Your hanging earrings can be placed through the stud holes, or through these little slits, that makes getting them in and out a breeze! As you can see, this little gadget…

Fab Find Friday – Bling-a-ring-a-rosy

Fab Find Friday – Bling-a-ring-a-rosy

I’ve always been a bling, bling girl – ok not always, but I’ve been told (by the source) that my mom has fond memories of me in pre-school (those days it was still called nursery school) wearing not one, but every single plastic bangle, necklace and ring I owned – all at once.  She used to call me “Bijoux” and say that my teachers could hear me, ding-ling and dangling miles away. My bling-blinging slowed down for a good couple of years, and slowly started up again when I was 18 and worked part time in a jewellery store, that sold fabulous silver pieces.  Nowadays, I just can resist buying more bling, and although Cindy (our resident Bags and Bling) lady has quite the collection, I vow to catch up. I’m not that keen on jewellery – the real stuff – apart from my engagement ring and wedding band, I don’t wear much “authentic” stuff and I am not that interested in gawking at jewellery store windows either. But take me to an accessories shop like Claire’s or Sass Diva and I’m in my element. I like the three B’s – Big, Bold and BLING.  So unless I can afford…
