Get Your Nail Polish To Last

Get Your Nail Polish To Last

Nails! The bane of my existence! I used to get my nails Shellac-ed all the time, which I loved because my nail colour would last for weeks, and my nails would look in pretty darn good shape. Nowadays, time seems like a luxury I just can’t afford. So for the past couple of weeks, I’ve been paying real close attention to the condition of my nails and it’s really paying off in terms of far prettier at-home-nail-jobs, healthier nails and longer lasting polish. Best part, it isn’t as hard as you think! You will need to invest in a few essential tools to prep your nails for the perfect paint job. Before you apply your nail colour, spend a little time getting your nails in tip top shape. Make sure your nails are completely clean and free of any oils. Even if you’ve just removed your previous colour, use a little nail scrubbing brush to scrub off any excess oils. Next, dry your nails completely. Shape your nails using a nail file, going in one direction rather than sawing back and forth. Gals, you get nail files and then you get nail files! Those cheapies you find in the supermarket…

Ombre Sparkle Holiday Nails

Ombre Sparkle Holiday Nails

This Nails Inc Chelsea Embankment polish is, without a doubt, the most intense, most glittery-glitter polish I’ve ever come across. It’s absolutely gorgeous and perfect for sparkly, holiday nails! I received it the other day with Nails Inc Basil Street polish, which is a true nude and since I’m feeling festive, I wanted to try a little ombre sparkle on my nails. The results came out beautifully! I love it! Another look you could try with combo is painting all your nails with Basil Street and then adding Chelsea Embankment to your ring finger only for a a glamours, subtle sparkle effect. Get your Ombre Party Nails On! Start by applying two coats of Basil Street (allowing the first coat to dry before applying the second). Next, using a glittery top coat with subtle sparkle, apply over Basil Street on the entire nail. You can use Chelsea Embankment, just be sure to wipe off as much product from the brush as you can. The idea is to create just a hint of sparkle at the base of the nail and this product has serious glitter. Once that has dried, dip your brush into Chelsea Embankment and wipe it a few times. Then apply it on the middle, bottom half of the nail and spread it down and across. Lastly, apply a coat…

Welcome To The Dark Side

Welcome To The Dark Side

Black nails are just one of those things… you either love them or you hate them! I love them, but I hate it when they chip! They end up looking very goth, but not in a good way! And let’s face it, good ‘ol fashioned nail polish doesn’t last long, and who really has time to paint their nails daily? There was a time when I did, but not anymore. On Friday I went to change up my Shellac from my fun Polka Dotty Nails and decided to go over onto the dark side! Shellac Black Pool is the one colour of Shellac I had been dying to try! Black, glossy, chip-free nails for over two weeks! Now that’s what I’m talking about. As I’m going to the Converse #GETDIRTY event on Saturday, I wanted something a little rocker. Something a little bit edgy and I definitely knew I wanted to use one the skull nail art from my  Nails inc Leather Effect Bling it on Rebel selection. This is how the final look came out. On my right hand, we blinged up only the ring finger with some of the crystals from the Bling it on Rebel selection, and on my left, Jo-D added a…

Hot Trend! Leather Nails

Hot Trend! Leather Nails

When fashion and style icon Alexa Chung wears a trend, everybody wants it! At last years’ Brit Fashion Awards, Alexa rocked the red carpet with her leather effect nails, leaving nail fashionistas ooogling at her fingertips! Well, the good news is that you can get your paws on this awesome nail polish from Nails Inc thanks to Edgars, who will be the exclusive stockist of this internationally loved nail brand. I am obsessed with the Nails Inc. Leather Effect nail polish as well as their Bling it on Leather & Skulls and Bling it On Rebel kits! Inspired by texture, this nailpolish that looks like ordinary polish when applied, dries to form an authentic leather texture. Then, for the cherry on top, you can amp up the rock and roll look by adding bling skulls and Swarovski elements. The best part… you don’t need to go into a salon to achieve this look! Whether you’re after the Leather Effect Polish or you want to bling out our nails, you can do it all on your own! Leather Effect nailpolish comes in three fabulous shades; black (Noho), tan (Soho Mews) or my current favourite – an ox blood/ mulberry shade called Shorteditch Lane, which I’m wearing in…
