Midnight Blooms

Midnight Blooms

It may be winter – but I have Spring In My Step! I’ll admit, I’m not usually one to wear running shoes or sneakers outside of the gym – but these New Balance Midnight Blooms are so beautiful, so comfy and so darn cute, they are the perfect casual kicks that don’t look overly sporty! I actually love them! The Fresh Foam Zante soles makes them feel like I’m walking on air and let’s be honest – who could complain about looking down and seeing a gorgeous tropical print at their feet?

Wanderlust Traveler

Wanderlust Traveler

One of the things on my bucket list for 2016 (can you believe it’s nearly 2016!!!!) is to go on an open road trip, exploring our beautiful country. Sure, we’ve done “road trips” before, but they are usually to-and-from trips rather than an actual road trip; where you stop along the way, find yourself in some random, beautiful spot and discover what lies ahead. This gorgeous pair of hippie/ boho/ just plain awesome pants from Old Khaki give me that free spirited feeling, and they are super comfy making them perfect travel pants. I love everything about them. The colour, the wide leg, the fit, the pattern, the whole tribal/ bohemian contrast going on at the bottom – just everything! They are so versatile and can be worn with just about anything, but for this look, I wanted to keep the whole wanderlust/ boho/ free spirited theme going, so I paired them with a pretty, white boho blouse and some of my fave semi-precious accessories. Now that I have my traveling pants on, where to from here? Do you guys have any cool road trip suggestions? Places you’ve been to or heard about, let me know in the comments below…

Late Afternoon (outfit of the day)

Late Afternoon (outfit of the day)

After that insane heatwave, I never thought I’d see green grass in Jozi. But after a week of beautiful, blissful rain, summer gardens are starting to look the part. I thought I’d take advantage of the beautiful weekend weather we had to show you gals my new, favourite piece of clothing. The gorgeous, Safar Ladies Suede Jacket from Old Khaki. I had been lusting after it since this post, and I had been locked onto the Old Khaki website, eagerly awaiting it’s arrival. The Safar waistcoat/jacket/ gilet (call it what you will) is one of my best purchases ever! It’s high quality, made from 100% suede, making it butter soft, luxurious and so insanely beautiful with it’s bohemian fringe detail. Outfit Details: Fringe Waistcoat – from Old Khaki {buy it online here} Maxi Skirt – (old) from Junkyard Angel Cream Vest – (old) from Woolworths Leather Wrap Belt – from Old Khaki {buy it online here} Gladiator Laceup Flats – Top Shop Cuff – from a little shop in Dullstroom

Out in Africa! My “Safari Outfit” and our Adventure in the Bush

Out in Africa! My “Safari Outfit” and our Adventure in the Bush

I’ve just returned from the most incredible bush adventure! Four days out in Africa, getting up close and personal with all her beautiful creatures, just roaming around a few inches from the protection of our Landrover. Before our trip, I popped into Old Khaki (of course) to pick out some bush-ready, summer-ready and style savvy pieces and I couldn’t resist this gorgeous fringed Cardi. Isn’t it just the cutest summer cover-up? It was perfect for our evening game drives! Since I had bush veld on the brain, by pure stroke of luck and perfect timing, I also found this floppy bush hat while I was there, which was just the cherry on top! It will defs become my bush adventure staple from now on! I wore it on almost every game drive and it kept me cool, protected from the sun and thanks to the little drawstring I didn’t lose it. And the colour… perfecto! Look at that frrrrriiiinge! Obsessed! We had such a blast! This was part of our group racing to catch the lioness before she moved away on our last game drive evening. We were incredibly blessed to have seen it all… We spotted the entire big five entourage… Lions, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant and Rhino, as well as a whole lot more. I wasn’t too fond…

Let’s Shop Summer at Old Khaki

Let’s Shop Summer at Old Khaki

I love collab-ing with Old Khaki to bring you gals my favourite in-store picks every month. With summer on the way, I’m done winter shopping and so excited with the summer selection on offer this month. I’m in love with everything I bought, and although it may not “go together” as one outfit, I know that these pieces will get a lot of wear this summer. So what did I buy? First up, these beautiful espadrilles I mentioned in yesterday’s post. I friggin love them! I don’t own a pair of espadrilles (until now) and seriously, I don’t know where they have been all my life. They are T-H-E comfiest shoes ever, and I love the faded blue and white stripe on the Rare Earth Bailey Espadrilles. Definitely a summer essential! These will be great for casual weekend wear, road trips and travel. Next up, a bright, fun cami for summer… You gals know I’m all boho-friggin-crazy, so there was no way I could resist this bright, beautiful and certainly eye catching cami. This one I’m wearing is the “Saffron” but I’m going back for the  “Ines” one too! It’s nice and loose fitting – made from my favourite, rayon – and the print is wild! Look at…

I Woke Up Like This (outfit of the day)

I Woke Up Like This (outfit of the day)

Good morning guys! I hope you all had a fab weekend! This weekend I shot another little OOTD, with this totally cute graphic sweat shirt. I love graphic tees, so when I spotted this one at SheIn, I had to have it! For a sweatshirt, it was quite fitted, so I layered it over a white shirt to add more length to my torso – since I don’t like it when tops end just on my hip. Not a good look for an already “hippy” girl ya know what I mean! I think the white shirt with the collar peeking out also made the look a little more pulled together. Still casual, but not overly so! To brighten up my look and make it more weekend cool, I wore my new Dune London Ediamond yellow handbag. It’s not technically a cross-body bag, but it works perfectly as one for me! Then, I just added a fluffy little charm to my bag to add some fun and threw on a pair of ripped up boyfriend jeans, nude pointed flats and some blue accessories. Outfit Details I Woke Up Like This Sweater – Shein on sale! White shirt – Old Khaki (the same one I mentioned in this post) Handbag – Dune London Jeans…

Crisp White Shirts for Spring with Old Khaki

Crisp White Shirts for Spring with Old Khaki

I’m so glad the weather is warming up a bit, and I am so looking forward to longer days, shorter nights, sun, fun and all round good moods. Shopping for clothes at seasonal crossroads can be a tricky one! I mean, I always need new clothes (who doesn’t?) , but what to buy? I certainly don’t want to buy anymore winter clothes, and shopping for summer clothes may be a little premature, so what do you do? Well, I’ve found two absolute wardrobe essentials that you can wear right now in “almost-spring” and take them well into your summer wardrobe. Two fabulous, crisp white wonders from one of my fave stores, Old Khaki. The Jenah Plain Long Sleeve Shirt Everyone needs a crisp white shirt hanging in their closet! It’s such a versatile piece that you simply cannot live without! “When I put on a white shirt, it’s the same feeling as getting into crisp, fresh sheets at night, I just feel good in them.” – Tom Ford I picked up the Jenah Plain Long Sleeve Shirt (R350) and I’d be lying if said this wasn’t my absolute favourite white shirt. Pure white, plain, soft and it fits so well! I’ve been on the hunt for a crisp white shirt for a…

Sweater Weather Faves – The Fringed Knit

Sweater Weather Faves – The Fringed Knit

Yay for sweater weather! Hands up if you’re as excited to bundle up in cozy knits as I am! And if you’re throwing your arms up in the air, what better way to do it than in this gorgeous, cozy knit “Precious Sweater” from Old Khaki? Just look at that fringe! I am obsessed! Since most knitted sweaters look a little boxy (on me at least), I found that the best way to balance it out, is to layer it over a pretty collard shirt worn with skinny jeans – perhaps even add a statement necklace to the mix. I wore my Precious Sweater the other day with a light wash denim shirt, dark wash skinny jeans, tan boots and it made for a perfect, pulled together winter look. Today, I went for a more muted palette, and paired my Precious Sweater with an extra long, viscose beige shirt, black leggings and my lived in Minnetonka Tramper boots. Then just stacked a few simple bracelets. I love the different textures of this knit. It gives it such a cozy, fluffy and beautiful effect, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say that it was the fringe that totally stole my heart! Get your Precious Knit from Old Khaki now (R499). I.…

Shades of Grey #ootd

Shades of Grey #ootd

The winter chill is upon us, and all I want is to stay warm and fluffy all day long! Lately I’ve been living in my Riveria Edge to Edge longer length grey cardi from Old Khaki. It’s the softest, most snuggle worthy item of clothing I own and it goes with pretty much everything. Speaking of snuggle worthy, I’m also mildly obsessed with these cable knit fingerless gloves and my pom pom beanie (and I’ve still got my eye on this one). Outfit Details Grey, longer length cardi – Old Khaki (get it online here) Striped tee – Cotton On Fingerless gloves – Old Khaki (get them online here) Pom Pom beanie – Cotton On. Similar style here from Old Khaki Necklace – Lucky Brand Jeans – Luck Brand Leather Riding Boots – Tsonga Mug (my favourite) from Anthropologie

Weekend Uniform – Distressed Stripes #OOTD

Weekend Uniform – Distressed Stripes #OOTD

I’ve never met a striped tee I didn’t like. I guess you could say, I have a bit of an obsession when it comes to anything striped. You can never have too much. Especially like this really different striped tee, that I picked up from Old Khaki the other day… It’s the perfect mix of stripe, but with an edge. And I can bet, you don’t have anything like it in your collection? What makes the Lanah Tee different, is that the white has this really cool, distressed kinda effect going on. I paired mine with a green parka (I bought this one last year, but there’s a similar style here with a faux fur hoodie – ohh), blue Lucky Brand jeans, my trusty Converse high tops and a bling necklace. It was a little colder in morning, so I thought it the perfect opportunity to wear my super cute beanie with a huge, faux fur pom-pom. Get The Look Susana Chunky Pom-Pom Beanie Della Rose Parka Lanah Striped Tee Muneez Knitted Tassle Snood *Another piece that would add the perfect layering to this look And, I just had to share this cute pic… the photographers-assistant-turned-model, making sure he’s part…
