Oh-Oh-Orange Nails

Oh-Oh-Orange Nails

Orange is one of summer’s must do nail trends! It’s a shade that’s more fun than the classic red, it’s young, fresh and very striking. Orange looks amaze on tanned twinkle toes and hands. Long nails (although not too long) and short both look great with orange tips. We say, the brighter they are, the better! Here are five orange shades that we’re loving this summer, take a look… From Left: Inglot Nail Enamel in 949 Tip Top Nail Chic in Creamy Orange OPI Nail Lacquer in Hot & Spicy (Editor’s Pick) Tip Top Nail Chic in Solar Flare Maybelline Mini Colorama in Peach Cocktail What’s your favourite shade? The Weekend Wrap

The Weekend Wrap

This weekend was perfect for catching up on some much needed chillin’ and working on my tan. On Saturday, I spent some time in the sun and watched the game. My Sharks vs the Cheetahs. Well, what a frustrating game! After Lambie missed the poles for the second time – Michalak also missed them in between – making it three missed kicks in a row, I eventually gave up my position in front of the TV to carry on enjoying the sunshine on a gorgeous summer’s day. It was scorching hot out and I’m finally starting to look like a Durbanite! Lots of Appletiser on hand to keep cool! Sunday was another BEA-utiful Durban day, spent out by the pool. In the afternoon we decided to take a drive down to the beachfront to check out Moyo on Ushaka Pier. A friend told me about it and how “you just have to go there for sundowner’s” and this Sunday seemed like the perfect afternoon to do just that. The position is perfect! It’s literally on the edge of the pier; a double story building with the most fabulous views of Durban’s buzzing beach front and the show stopping Moses Mabhida Spaceship…

Summer Nail Trends: Nudes

Summer Nail Trends: Nudes

Nothing looks more summer-cool than nude nails on a beach bronzed hand. As you know, I’m obsessed with nail colours – it’s the quickest, easiest and probably one of the most affordable ways to change your mood in an instant. This summer, I’ll show you six of my favourite nail colour trends to try on your nails. Kicking off today with Nude Nails. Now, there are two kinds of nude; Simple nudes like beige and soft natural skin tones, and then slightly more amped shades with a hint of pink or muddy browns. Take a look Nude as in naked If you want to create skin toned nails, I love these three colours. Three different shades of nude, but each with their own unique style and benefits… Of the three my fave is Tip Top Nail Chic in Cotton Beige. This colour has a slightly more yellow tone and is solid and full – kinda like gel. Yves Rocher in Beige Nacre offers a nice sheer tint (where you can still see the seperation between your nail bed and tips). Inglot 630 is slightly more metallic and offers a nice solid colour in two coats. What I like about this…

OPI Black Shatter Nail Polish

OPI Black Shatter Nail Polish

Ohh, how amazeballs is this crackle nail polish from OPI? I walked passed it in the mall yesterday and just could not resist! I had to have it and I gotta say, I love it! Seriously, how cool are my nails? A little short I’ll admit, but I love the graffiti-like, almost leopard print effect this crackle polish creates. It’s part of the new Katy Perry OPI collection, which also includes a fab range of colours that are on my wish-list. For now, I’ve made BFF’s with the Black Shatter Nail Lacquer.         Creating wild effects with this polish is so simple. All you do is paint your nails with any colour of your choice. I chose a yummy yellow from Sally Hansen called “Lemon Dash” as my base colour. Let the colour dry completely and then add a coat of OPI Black Shatter polish over it and watch it transform into a cracked effect before your eyes. So cool! You can create a crazy range of styles using different colours and different techniques with this shatter polish. Try light strokes, double coat strokes and even try playing around with how much pressure you apply when painting…
