Hi There

These New Eye Shadow Sticks are so ScandalEYES

These New Eye Shadow Sticks are so ScandalEYES

Have you heard the latest Scandal?  Rimmel’s new Scandaleyes Eye Shadow sticks are out and they are here to give your eye lids outrageous colour in a flash! These new, high impact jumbo sticks promise easy, crease free colour that lasts for up to 24 hours, and they come in 7 fab colours. I got to sample four of the seven colours, including Witness White, Gossip Green, Guilty Grey and Bulletproof Beige. I really like the colours, texture and long lasting (it really is) staying power of these sticks. They are perfect for your holiday bag, especially if you’re going away and don’t want to carry your entire makeup collection, but still want the option of having various shadow colours on hand. The only downside of these pencils, is that since they are actual pencils in need of sharpening, with soft tips, they do tend to “break” off quite easily. So instead of keeping them sharp, I prefer to use them a little blunter if you know what I mean. The consistency is almost like that of a cream eye shadow, but it adheres to the skin more like an eyeliner than an eyeshadow. I was really impressed with how well they lasted. I tested out the…

Beauty Bytes – Fab New Makeup Goodies

Beauty Bytes – Fab New Makeup Goodies

Here’s a quick beauty byte on some of the amazing new makeup goodies I’ve been playing with recently. Tried, Tested and LOVED (as always)! Woolworths Makeup Wink, Wink, Blush, Blush! Woolies have launched an exciting new range of makeup that’s bang on trend and budget friendly! Some of the goodies I got to try: WINK Eyeshadow trio (R49.95) and BLUSH lip & cheek tint (R49.95). The eyeshadow I got to play with, Khol Maybe is absolutely stunning. I’m in love with the burgundy shade on the right and the khaki green on the left is also gorgeous. A great combo for winter! These WINK shadows are highly pigmented and great for adding metallic colour to your lids. In general I don’t like using the applicators that come with compacts, and prefer to use my MAC 217 blending brush to create a blended shade and my MAC 239 brush to pack on the colour.  You can even amp up the intensity of these shadows by dipping your 239 brush in a drop of water before packing on the colour. This will make your eyes pop! The BLUSH lip and cheek tint is a lovely cream blush that diffuses effortlessly on the cheeks and adds a perfect pop of colour to your lips.…

Out OF This World!

Out OF This World!

Combining the intense colour of lipstick with a smooth, lacquer-like shine. That’s what RIMMEL‘s new APOCALIPS lip lacquer is all about. They’ve created a luscious liquid product (like gloss) and added colour pigments (like lipstick) to create a rich lip colour intensity. The Apocalips range will launch in South Africa in April 2013 with a selection of 10, gorgeous shades… From left: Apocaliptic, Celestial, Out Of This World, Big Bang, Galaxy, Stargazer, Midnight Thunder, Light Year, Phenomenon & Nude Eclipse I got to sample this product range first hand to bring you another tried, tested and loved beauty review! I’m definitely more of a gloss girl than a lipstick girl, and this product is perfect for me! It glides on really smooth and gives your lips a wonderful, moisturized feeling. Plus, the added pigment gives you rich and indulgent colour! Although Apocolips claims to stay on all day, I have yet to find any product that actually does without touch ups. However, the colour intensity of Apocalips definitely lasts a good hour or two. The thing I love most about this range is that although it combines lipstick and gloss, it doesn’t come with the stickiness and gooeyness of gloss or the dryness that usually…

unBBelievable! We Test Rimmel’s new BB Cream

unBBelievable! We Test Rimmel’s new BB Cream

So what do you guys think of BB Cream? I must be honest, this is only the second BB cream product I’ve tried and so far, I love BB Creams (click to here to see the other BB product I’ve tried, tested and loved). This February, RIMMEL launches their BB cream, marketed as a product with 9-in-1 superpowers! Bringing makeup and skincare together in one tube, RIMMEL BB cream claims to prime, moisturize, minimise pores, protect the skin, conceal, cover, smoothe, mattify and brighten the skin. Available in 3 shades; Light, Medium and Medium/Dark, with an added SPF of 25, this beauty balm is all about the natural makeup effect. It’s lightweight and doesn’t feel like makeup. Because I live in Durbs (by the sea) where it’s generally hot and humid, I often feel as though my makeup is melting! I hate that feeling, you know, where you’re too scared to give someone a hug in the fear that your face might end up on their shoulder! Ya, you know what I’m talking about! Granted, its only 25 degrees here today, so not as hot as it normally is, but I’ve been wearing RIMMEL BB Cream on my face all…

Kiss Me Kate!

Kiss Me Kate!

Check out this new range of long lasting lippies from Rimmel. In collaboration with London’s edgiest “it girl” and the face of the brand, Kate Moss has created a range of her own fashion inspired shades. Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick is a collection of eight of Kate’s favourite shades packaged in a sleek and stylish black-matte container. Of the eight colours, I got to sample four; shade 8, 9, 10 and 15 (pictured in order above). My fave of the lot, is definitely shade 08 – it’s a very pretty, simple nude that’s easy to wear and looks great! This is how they all look watched on my hand. The last colour, shade 15 is also pretty cool. It’s a barely there sparkle beige. I’m not a huge fan of reds, but if you’re into them, these two are really rich, vibrant shades! In her own words, Kate Moss said “My inspiration for this range was really to create a range of easy to wear, classic shades that I have always worn and loved. From bright reds, to soft pinks and nudes, there is a shade for everyone and any occasion. It was also really important for me that…

Supersize Me – Rimmel’s new Giant Gloss

Supersize Me – Rimmel’s new Giant Gloss

Have you been working out? Check out Rimmel‘s new buff Vinyl Gloss, Max! Well hello there big boy! Rimmel’s cult gloss, Vinyl Gloss has just been supersized to give you more pout than you bargained for. The bigger applicator with the same gooey glam gloss, now helps you pump up those pouts, quicker and easier. One of my all time favourites, the traditional Vinyl Gloss sized up here with the new Vinyl Max. I love this gloss. I love the supersize applicator that makes applying gloss easier (no really, it does). The tip has a slightly flatter point that helps with precision – no mirror needed! And, then there’s the actual gloss itself. Totally gorgeous, it smells great and leaves lips with a gorgeous shine. It also has a slight tingling effect, giving your lips and added bit of oomph! Pretty colours to choose from including; Passion, Addictive, Desire, Muse, Excess (my favourite) and Dare. These new pimped out glosses are available at selected Foschini, Edgars, Clicks, Dis-Chem, The Hub and Pick ‘n Pay stores plus leading pharmacies. Get them for R69.95 a pop!

Flirty, Fabulous Lippies for Glossy Lips

Flirty, Fabulous Lippies for Glossy Lips

If you’re not into lipstick but still want to get glossy lips this Valentines day then check out our top lippies – perfect for any occasion… Labello Glamorous Gloss in Red Ruby gives your lips and irresistible shine with a soft feeling. I’m not big on red, but this gloss gives the lips just enough red without making them too bold. Give it a try, you’ll love it. For extreme shine, I absolutely heart Rimmel Vinyl Gloss in Keep A Secret. It’s pretty and pouty. Now I know this is technically a lip stick but Yardley Longwear Lips in Strawberry Daiquiri is the prefect primer for your bold lips. On it’s own the colour is rich and intense – just like a delicious daiquiri cocktail – for a slightly less bold effect, pat a little on and cover with a slick gloss like Nutriwomen Lip Lustre (4) and you’ll get those oh-so-sexy perky lips. Nutriwomen Lip Lustre gives your lips a clear sheen of gloss while it protects and nourishes them. The plumping formula glosses and conditions the lips, reducing wrinkle lines around the lip. Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick in Grand Garnet gives your lips long lasting colour with…
