Moschino Cheap And Chic STARS

Moschino Cheap And Chic STARS

Happy Fragrance Friday everyone! Today, I’m coming to you with another exciting fragrance launch and a bottle so “out there”, it deserves it’s own page here on StyleScoop. Say hello to MOSCHINO STARS, a new to South Africa (it launched in the last week of August) Eau Da Parfum by MOSCHINO CHEAP AND CHIC. An unusual name for a fragrance, but you know MOSCHINO, always pushing the boundaries and going totally over the top! Just look at the bottle design! I mean, who but MOSCHINO would create a fragrance that’s lid features a cluster of shooting stars (or as they call it “a bouquet of stars, like the constellation Cassiopeia” ) and still make it look chic? And it smells pretty good too! Moschino Cheap and Chic STARS is a white floral scent that opens with top notes of citron granita, may rose and peony. At the heart lies lily of the valley, orange blossom and jasmine, before developing into a base of driftwood, vetiver, ambroxan and amber. On my first spritz, I instantly picked up on the zesty citrus note and could faintly smell the peony note coming through. As it developed the Jasmine came through quite strong –…

Scents of the Season – Guess Seductive

Scents of the Season – Guess Seductive

Today’s scent of the season is the new GUESS fragrance for women, simply called “Seductive”. A zesty and flirty scent that’s rich and vibrant. It was created by perfumer Veronique Nyberg, who imagined an irresistible scent that exudes temptation, flirtatiously drawing in those around the woman who wears it. It teases the senses, captivates attention, and leaves a lingering sensation of addiction. Although there are distinct floral notes, the vanilla and cashmere wood give this scent a champagne like aroma – treating the senses to a vibrant mix of flavours. It’s definitely a fragrance for flirty females, yet it’s not overpowering. Top Notes: Bergamot, Blackcurrant, Crispy Pear Middle Notes: Orange Flower, Jasmine, Orris Base Notes: Vanilla, Olibanum, Cashmere Wood GUESS Seductive EDT is available from R295 (for the 15ml) to R865 (for the 75ml). There’s also a Body Cream in this range, which will make a good combo come Christmas prezzie shopping.

Scents of the Season: BVLGARI BVL II

Scents of the Season: BVLGARI BVL II

Before I tried out this fragrance, I had always associated the Bulgari brand as one of sheer elegance and sophistication. A brand that makes a bold statement with exquisite craftmanship and timeless style. It’s founder Sotirio Bulgari’s signature technique and his use of gemstones and innovation set the spirit of the brand, and this signature is carried out right down to the fragrances. BLV EAU DE PARFUM II comes a decade after the launch of the first BVL fragrance. It’s rich, aromatic, sensational and very pleasing scent is said to be more closely linked to Bulgari’s world renowned jewellery heritage. “The world of BLV Eau de Parfum II is one of substance in transparency,” says perfumer Jacques Cavallier.

Scents of the Season – Hermès Eau Claire Des Merveilles

Scents of the Season – Hermès Eau Claire Des Merveilles

For today’s Scent of the Season, I profiled the new fragrance from Hermès called Eau Claire des Merveilles – my first taste of the Hermès brand. Like the brand itself, Eau Claire des Merveilles is a sophisticated fragrance; it’s chic, elegant and simple, yet stylish and has a definite element of allure. Although this scent is brand new, it adds another chapter to the original Eau des Merveilles fragrance which was created in 2004 by Ralf Schwieger and Nathalie Feisthauer. Eau Claire Des Merveilles, the work of perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena, is a play of creamy, powdery vanilla notes, cool and sparkling with a clear, airy veil of floral notes.

Scents of the Season: Thierry Mugler Womanity

Scents of the Season: Thierry Mugler Womanity

As I write this, it doesn’t quite seem like the perfect Spring day in Durban. Its raining, dark and miserable, which makes it somewhat hard to believe that summer is on the way! And while you probably can’t wear bikinis and don tanned legs just yet, you certainly can get in the summer mood with today’s Spring Scent – Womanity from Thierry Mugler.

Scents of the Season: A match made in heaven

Scents of the Season: A match made in heaven

Some things just go better together – Even the most perfect pair of peep toe Louboutin’s are made that much better by French manicured toes. It’s all about mixing the right ingredients, and like a true French romance, when it comes to fragrance Jean Paul Gaultier always creates the perfect affair…
