Oh-Oh-Orange Nails

Orange is one of summer’s must do nail trends! It’s a shade that’s more fun than the classic red, it’s young, fresh and very striking. Orange looks amaze on tanned twinkle toes and hands. Long nails (although not too long) and short both look great with orange tips. We say, the brighter they are, the better! Here are five orange shades that we’re loving this summer, take a look… From Left: Inglot Nail Enamel in 949 Tip Top Nail Chic in Creamy Orange OPI Nail Lacquer in Hot & Spicy (Editor’s Pick) Tip Top Nail Chic in Solar Flare Maybelline Mini Colorama in Peach Cocktail What’s your favourite shade? Green & Gold Makeup – Support the #Boks in Style

Green & Gold Makeup – Support the #Boks in Style

The #RWC2011 is in full swing and our boys in green are gold are looking good! It’s so nice to see South African’s behind the #boks and even us fabulous females can do our bit to support our boys. You don’t need beer and a boyish rugby tee to do it, we can do it in style with green and gold makeup. Thankfully these two colours go magnificently together as they are on opposite sides of the colour wheel, which means they compliment each other, so you wont look like a clown while supporting your team. We found some of the coolest makeup products out there right now to bring you green and gold in pigments, sparkle, liners, liquid, eyeshadow and of course, nail polish. Speaking of nail polish, if you’re feeling creative, why not try out my South African Flag nail art tutorial? Pigments & Sparkle Nothing beats pigment pots for simply superior eye intensity and a little sparkle. I have recently discovered Inglot pigments and I think I’m hooked! Check out these lil’ pots of gold…. Inglot has a fab selection of pigments, but I picked these three as my top three for Springbok support! The first one,…

Springbok Friday – South African Flag Nail Art & Video

Springbok Friday – South African Flag Nail Art & Video

Happy Bok Friday FashioniStars! I hope you’re all wearing your green and gold jerseys today and getting excited about our buff bokke playing on Sunday? Lately, I’ve been a little over obsessed with nail art, since discovering Inglot nail pens, so I thought, because our boys are playing this weekend, and it is Bok Friday, I would attempt to paint my nails with the South African flag. While I would have loved to do all my nails, our flag, as bright and colourful as it, is super tricky. Lots of lines, which means lots of concentration – something I’m not very good at. However, considering how tricky this design was, I didn’t do to badly. And because I love sharing everything fun and fab with you guys, I even did a video tutorial to show you how I did it it in case you wanted to attempt it. Scroll down to the end of this post for the video link I started off by painting all my nails, accept my ring finger in a gorgeous green from Tip Top Nail Chic called Adrenaline Junkie. It’s quite an intense colour that, on its own, often stains my nails, so I first…

Summer Nail Trends: Nudes

Summer Nail Trends: Nudes

Nothing looks more summer-cool than nude nails on a beach bronzed hand. As you know, I’m obsessed with nail colours – it’s the quickest, easiest and probably one of the most affordable ways to change your mood in an instant. This summer, I’ll show you six of my favourite nail colour trends to try on your nails. Kicking off today with Nude Nails. Now, there are two kinds of nude; Simple nudes like beige and soft natural skin tones, and then slightly more amped shades with a hint of pink or muddy browns. Take a look Nude as in naked If you want to create skin toned nails, I love these three colours. Three different shades of nude, but each with their own unique style and benefits… Of the three my fave is Tip Top Nail Chic in Cotton Beige. This colour has a slightly more yellow tone and is solid and full – kinda like gel. Yves Rocher in Beige Nacre offers a nice sheer tint (where you can still see the seperation between your nail bed and tips). Inglot 630 is slightly more metallic and offers a nice solid colour in two coats. What I like about this…

Nail Polish Love: Tip Top Cotton Beige

Nail Polish Love: Tip Top Cotton Beige

As you know, here at StyleScoop we’re obsessed with nail polish! Today, I’m wearing this gorgeous colour from Tip Top called “Cotton Beige”.  It’s a gorgeous, neutral colour that looks amazing on hands and feet. I found that a lot of very pale nail colours are difficult to apply, and you generally need a few coats to make them look anything like the colour of the bottle. This one is great; it glides on and in just two coats, you get a solid, true colour that’s perfect for summer. Imagine it with a tanned skin – mmmm! Tip Top is one of my favrouite nail polish brands, not only because it goes on so well and gives me about two days wear – which is a lot considering how much keyboard banging I do – but it’s also so inexpensive you can really afford to have gorgeous nails every day. Tip Top nail chic is available at Clicks stores nationwide. Comment below, let me know what you think of it xo Dimi

Tip Top – U Crack Me Up

Tip Top – U Crack Me Up

Cracked up nail polish is all the rage and you will no doubt see it all over the place as more and more brand release their version of cracked up polish. Always keeping up with the trends Tip Top, one of my all-time fave brands, has recently released their own version, in two fabulous colours and with a clever twist. Endorsed by South African drummer, model, actress and dancer Rikki Brest, these trendy nail polishes are inspired by her unique and innovative style. Available in two shades; Black Mosaic Crackle and Gold Rush Crackle, you can create your own colour combinations and effects. The U Crack Me Up polishes come in a duo container; one side has the crackle polish, and the other contains Top Flou Top Coat. At only R79.99 per duo, its totally affordable and leaves your nails looking stylish and trendy. The crackle polish works on any colour nail, you choose your base colour and then crack it up to your heart’s desire! Different strokes produce different effects, and each nail has it’s own cracked effect. To demonstrate, I painted two nails in a yummy coral shade, using one of my current nail crushes from Rimmel (313…
