Racey Lacey

There has been loads of lace on the catwalk, with Prada featuring lace almost exclusively. Luckily lace is not a really tricky trend to pull-off and certainly not as tricky as droopy, knee-crotch harem trousers. It’s beautiful, seductive, elegant and has a dramatically vintage look, but at its worst it can look cheap and feel scratchy. Because it’s difficult to modernise, team it with items like jeans, biker jackets and spiky stilettos. If you’re nervous of all over lace, stick to lace trim on camisoles and tops. Keep accessories minimal and on-trend. Black is obviously the easiest choice, but I adore this vintage cream dress with black lining – so chic!

Both lace dresses available from FriendsWithJenny, jenny@friendswithjenny.co.za.  Sizes small/medium and medium/large available.
