Wide leg, peg leg and boyfriend pants/leg – these are the catch phrases this winter. Wide-leg pants are always a winner, whether high-waisted or classic, you can’t go wrong with this flattering shape. Steer clear of too much fabric if you’re petite and team with just about anything on top and heels (duh!) to make a timeless, chic silhouette.
Boyfriend jeans are another huge trend for winter, moving well away from skinnies and toward the relaxed easy style you’d get if you stole your boyfriend’s jeans and wore them out for a night on the town.
Straight cut is optimal and feel free to scout the second hand shops for a pair with more of a vintage look. To really get the ‘oversized’ look right, turn the jeans up at the bottom, with turn-ups sitting just above the ankle. Depending how masculine you’d like to take the look, either team with a tight fitting tee and sneakers (tight is key here, as you don’t want to hide your curves and actually end up looking like your boyfriend!), or go for an overall more feminine look (which is the style I’m more partial to).
Peg leg pants are the final shape to embrace this season. Tapered towards the ankle, with excess fabric around the thighs, these pants sound like a fashion nightmare, but rest assured can be worn in a most flattering way! Really! Like the boyfriend jeans these are quite baggy and relaxed, so they are kind to your tummy and thighs, and comfy to boot! The cropped length also allows you to show off a stunning pair of shoes, a lovely bonus indeed! Keep things simple on top and rather let your pants and shoes do the talking!
