The Trench

It’s April, the mornings and evenings are becoming more chilled….but it’s not quite cold enough for full-on winter wear.  So, I present to you the Trench Coat.   A timeless piece that will be in fashion forever, making it a financial investment as well.

You can style it up or down, wear it with a cocktail dress and fabulous stilettos for a sexy look, a pencil skirt – for the more corporate look or with your jeans and a feminine blouse – for a ladylike look with a sophisticated twist. How you wear is your choice.

If you do not have the finances to purchase one in every possible colour, stick to your basic colours that will work with most of your outfits…. Black, stone, cream, grey or a chocolate brown are excellent choices.

Check out these coats from Woolworths:

If you’re a bit more daring, try a leopard or zebra print. Or a go for red if you like adding bold sophistication, otherwise a white makes a pretty good statement and is very elegant. Good luck with keeping it clean though and remember most of these coats are dry cleanable only.

Keep this in mind, as dry cleaning will cost more than your in house laundry system.

For the evening I saw the most amazing trench coats in Silver and Gold……but if you can get one in every colour – why not? Foschini also has a very big variety of Trench coats in all different colours and textures, from pinks to prints.

The trench coat is not only available in different colours, but also in different materials like jacquard and leather to name a few. Different styles are also available for example belted, pleated and double breasted.

Other fabulous brands that have gorgeous trench coats are Mango and Burberry. For the more brand aware diva’s out there.

Remember that this is a timeless piece so quality is key…….you will be able to wear this item for seasons and seasons to come….
Until next week!!

I love white coats, there is just something so warm and fluffy about them that makes you want to snuggle 🙂 – although keeping them clean is a different story! I saw the most amazing, hot pink coat at Truworths In Wear.
